1-1: LA Rams - Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State:  Lots of speculation on which guy the Rams will take, I don't think the California angle will play into it at all.  I think fisher and Snead are going to prefer the bigger more upside player.

1-2: Philadelphia Eagles - Jared Goff, QB, California:  Eagles get the player the Rams do not choose.

Trade: San Diego trades 1-3 and 6-180 to Jacksonville for 1-5 and 2-38

1-3: Jacksonville Jags - Jalen Ramsey - CB/S - FSU: The Jags badly want the play maker in the secondary and feel they need to get ahead of Dallas to get their man.

1-4: Dallas Cowboys - Ezekiel Elliot - RB - Ohio State: Some experts will kill them for taking a RB so early but Dallas running the ball two years ago were very good, last year they were poor and their QB got killed.  In my Elliot is good enough to be a worthy pick here.

Trade: San Diego trades 1-5, 4-103, 7-223 to Tampa Bay for 1-9, 2-39

1-5:  Tampa Bay Bucs: Laremy Tunsil - OT - Ole Miss: Tampa was 4th worst in QB hits given up last year.  Donovan Smith is an okay Lt but Gosder Cherlius is suspect at RT, need to make sure you have a long time LT for Jameis

Trade:  Baltimore trades 1-6 to Cleveland for 1-8, 3-77

1-6: Cleveland Browns: Paxton Lynch - QB - Memphis: The Browns raise some eyebrows with this move, Baltimore is never afraid to trade down, the Browns ensure they get a developmental QB that they passed on by trading out of #2. They wanted to get ahead of the Niners.

1-7: San Francisos 49ers: Myles Jack - LB - UCLA:  The Niners need help everywhere they were 29th vs the run, 27th vs the pass and 29th in sacks last year.

1-8:  Baltimore Ravens: Joey Bosa - DE - Ohio State: The Ravens get their prime DE and get a 3rd rounder by trading down a few spots.

1-9: San Diego Chargers: DeForest Buckner - DE - Oregon: San Diego was 27th vs the run and 24 in sacks last year.  They traded down twice earlier in this round and still come away with a big need player.

1-10: New York Giants: Laquon Treadwell - WR - Ole Miss: The Giants made a number of defensive signings in the off season.  Even with Cruz coming back the Giants really need another weapon to take some pressure off of OBJ

Trade: Chicago trades 1-11 to Tennessee for 1-15, 3-64

1-11: Tennessee Titans: Ronnie Stanley - OT - Notre Dame: Tennessee was last in the league in sacks given up and 7th in Qb hits last year.  Taylor Lewan might be more suited to RT.

1-12: New Orleans Saints: Vernon Hargraves - CB - Florida:  The Saints have had troubles in their secondary for years, they were stating a CFL quality player at CB last year.

1-13: Miami Dolphins: Kevin Dodd - DE - Clemson: Phins would have looked at tiang up for Elliot if he had last a few more picks, as it is they lost Vernon to FA, Wake is older ans coming off an injury.  (I think that Dodd is going to go higher than most people think.)

1-14: Oakland Raiders: A'Shawn Robinsion - DT - Alabama:   The Raiders have a promising offense and a great player in Mack.  They help out Mack and their other LB's by getting a quality inside player.

1-15: Chicago Bears: Andrew Billings - DT - Baylor: 22nd vs the run last year, Billings is not a huge dude but is drawing comparisons to Aaron Donald and Sheldon Richardson who tuned out pretty damn good.

1-16: Detroit Lions: Josh Doctson - WR - TCU:  The need is there, Doctson is in the running to be the best WR in this draft.  Some people might think this pick is a bit of a reach but I'm not so sure it is.

1-17: Atlanta Falcons: Sheldon Rankins  - DT - Louisville: Atlanta was middle of the pack in run and pass defense but was last in sacks.  A strong interior line can help free up an edge rusher like Beasley.

1-18: Indianapolis Colts: Leonard Floyd - OLB - Georgia: Indy was 22 or lower in run and pass defense and sacks.  They considered trying to move up for an OT but the price was too high.

1-19: Buffalo Bills: Reggie Ragland - ILB - Alabama: The Bills defense disappointed last year, they have skill along the lines at pass rusher and in the secondary but their ILBs are nothing to write home about.

Trade: New York Jets trade 1-20 to Carolina for 1-30 and 2-62

1-20: Carolina Panthers: William Jackson III - CB - Houston:  The Panthers lost an important pro bowl CB and decide to move up to get the guy they have highest on their board in that position.

1-21: Washington Redskins: Robert Nkemdiche - DT - Ole Miss:  The Redskins need help in the interior of their line, they take a risk on the definition of a boom bust player.

1-22: Houston Texans: Corey Coleman  - WR - Baylor:  The Texans are in the same boat as the Giants with a fabulous #1 Wr who other teams will scheme the heck out of to stop.  One of the best ways to get around this is to have a legit, dangerous #2 guy.

1-23: Minnesota Vikings: Will Fuller - WR - Notre Dame: The Vikings like to run the ball but were 31st in the league in passing last year.  Bridgewater needs some more help to go along with the surprising Stephon Diggs.

1-24: Cincinnati Bengals: Darron Lee - LB - Ohio State:  The Bengals don't have a lot of holes on their team overall, they might have taken a WR but the top guys are gone.

1-25: Pittsburgh Steelers: Jack Conklin - OT - MSU:  Steelers lost Kelvin Beachum to FA.  They got lucky with the over achieving Alejandro Villanueva at LT but he could go south at any time.

Trade: Seattle trades 1-16, 7-224 to Denver for 1-31, 3-95

1-26: Denver Broncos: Connor Cook - QB - MSU:  A controversial pick by the Broncos but they want at developmental QB in this draft, Cooks value is all over the boards, they trade up because teams ahead of them might have the same thought.

1-27: Green Bay Packers: Jason Spriggs - OT - Indiana: The Packers have tried to make so at some oline positions for years and have had injuries there.  Time to quit fooling around and get a prototype LT prospect.

1-28: Kansas City Chiefs: Eli Apple - CB - Ohio State: The Chiefs hit pay dirt with Marcus Peters last year Phillip Gaines is their present starter on the other side and hes a bit of a ?

1-29: Arizona Cardinals: Hunter Henry - TE - Alabama:  The Cards are close to being a super bowl team but at present have Darren Fells and just signed Germaine Gresham, from last year it became apparent that the cards badly need a good security blanket for Palmer.

1-30: New York Jets: Taylor Decker - OT - Ohio State: Decker may or may not be able to play LT but the Jets need to start rebulding an aging oline, Decker is the best alternative here.

1-31: Seattle Seahawks: Mackenzie Alexander - CB - Clemson:  The Hawks just resigned Brandon Browner and he's done like dinner.  Alexander is not a big Cb like Seattle favors but he is still potentially a very good Cb.

(New England Patriots forfeit 1st round pick for blatantly cheating.)

New York Jets Draft:

Trade:  New York Jets trade Mo Wilkerson to Tennessee for picks 2-42, 3-76

1-30: Taylor Decker - OT - Ohio State

2-43: Sterling Shepard - WR - Oklahoma:  Shepard imo could be Antonio Brown light, a shifty quality receiver.

2-51: Germain Ifedi - OT - Texas A&M: Another offensive tackle perhaps more suited to LT.  Between Decker and Ifedi the Jets double down on getting a LT with the other player being RT or guard if necessary.

2-62: Kyler Fackrell - OLB - Utah State:  Jets get their pass rushing OLB prospect

3-76: Austin Hooper - TE - Stanford: TE is not a pressing need for the Jets but Hooper can give them an even more legit red zone presence.

3-83: Sheldon Day - DT - Notre Dame: Does not have the prototypical size one might be looking for but is a high effort penetrator and Bowles will find a spot for him.

4-119: Brandon Allen - QB - Arkansas:  Another disappointing year for the Jets becasue they can't come up with a prime QB prospect but Allen has shown true progression each year in college and displays the ability to get rid of the ball quick and with some accuracy, things that fit well with their present offensive scheme.

7-227: Tom Hackett - P - Utah: The Jets need to invest one of their later picks for punter that might be the answer long term.  Could be Hackett or Kaser.

7-240: Stephen Weatherly - DE/OLB - Vanderbilt:  Always a good idea to double down in a draft in areas of need, in this case OLB.  Weatherly has potential to be a situational pass rusher.

Nicely done.

The Jets have been scouring over all of the safeties (for whatever reason). Trade your Shepard pick for Karl Joseph, and replace Hooper with  Vannett (the only TE they've actually shown interest in), and you might be right on course.
