Matt Forte

Is it any more obvious why Chicago let this guy walk?

53 yards yesterday. One carry went for 28 and honestly he was so untouched into the secondary it should have went for a TD. He is so slow and without moves the DB made the stop easily.

Take away that run and he was 11 for 25 yards.

At 6' tall  you can probably just fall down foward for the same average per carry.

Should have taken a back in the draft instead of Hackenberg who is absolutely a useless pick.

Another example of the ineptitude by this GM and HC .

It is going to be very hard for this team to stay ahead of Miami and out of the basement this year and if they do go 2-14 they will probably draft another DL or LB if these jokers dont get canned.

He is being sorely misused. Forte was brought in to be our 3rd down pass catching back. Why we are pounding the rock with him, no body knows.

This is not a running team. Losing Ivory to FA was a severe down grade. Because the Jets signed Fitz for $12MM there was no flexibility on the roster. The cap was already pressed without Fitz. Adding Forte to Powell and Ivory would have been a real upgrade. The level of poor QB play could have been had for a lot less money.

Geno has never been this bad. All the teams are stacking the box and daring Fitz to beat them deep. The results are 1 and 4.

Bilal Powell and Matt Forte look like they're playing at two completely different speeds. Gailey (and the offense) is totally misusing both backs. There was one run yesterday with a massive hole and Forte just couldn't get there. The mismanagement of offensive talent, not to mention completely ignoring the position in the draft, has come to roost. When you have a limited QB, you need a solid running game. The Jets don't have that this year especially in the red zone.

I think I know the playing you are talking about, it was a run play to the left. If Forte simply had Powell's speed, he would have ran past those linebackers, as he had the angle on them but his lack of speed showed. Powell is the better back right now, and its not even close, in my opinion. Forte is slow.

Forte is done, it couldn't be any more obvious.  Slow and ineffective, he can't get through open holes, goes down at first sniff, and is generally not providing the running game this Offense needed desperately to function.

Powell is Powell so far.  Mediocre.

Chan has also been sh*t in using what limited skills these two have.

Pathetic how bad our running game has been this year.

Forte hasn't been the pure rushing RB we are using him to be. He's a pass catching RB. 2 receptions a game is not why we signed him. No screens, no dump offs. We've used him in 1st n 2nd downs. On passing downs, we use Powell. Problem is, both of our backs are 3rd down backs.

Having said that, a few of Forte's carries came on short yardage situations yesterday and he picked up the necessary yardage on most attempts. So 12 for 53 isn't the worst performance. We just need him to be lined up at the WR spot on most downs.
