Giants get caught and penalized and it was almost entirely ignored, and not once has it been revisited.  I'm only reminded of it from the mock draft spreadsheet. Further proof that the narrative is more important to the writers than the reality. Jets fans will never get fair reporting. NEVER.

The Giants skated because the Pats are dirty. It's like if your neighbor to the left got a ticket for not recycling a week after the neighbor to the right got caught running a child sex farm in his basement.

Or.....it isn't yet apparent to many fans just how much this narrative affects the perception of this organization and as a result it's position in the marketplace.  I'm not saying we should be sitting here crying in our cheerios over any of this. But I do think it should be a major point of contention from the fans to put pressure on this inept organization to get some real PR and marketing folks in there and manage this problem. The brand of the NY Jets is dysfunction. Yes it all starts at the top. But the guy at the top has no idea how to run a business. And he reacts to fan motivation and media approval.

Not quite.

What you call skated was an appropriate punishment. In fact, its the same kind of punishment the Pats would have gotten for deflated footballs, but for one major difference:

When the Giants were caught red handed, they didn't lie, deny and attempt (failing miserably) to cover it up. They apologized and took their punishment with dignity. Brady and Co are the complete opposite of dignified. That and that alone is why the penalty was different.
