Smizzy
Bradway gets one-year extension from Jets Thursday, February 09, 2006 STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS Former Jets general manager Terry Bradway was given a one-year extension on his contract while stepping aside in favor of Mike Tannenbaum, according to a league official close to Bradway. Bradway, who is now a "consultant" with the club, had two years remaining on his contract. He had served as the club's general manager for five seasons. The extension should put an end to speculation that there was a power struggle between Bradway and Tannenbaum. Bradway, 50, wants to remain in the area. He lives in South Jersey with his wife, Kathy, has a son who plays football at Villanova and two other teenage children. In other Jets news, Vinny Marino, who currently works with the NFL Management Council and is no relation to former Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino, is a candidate to join the Jets as a salary-cap specialist. -- Dave Hutchinson
4HCrew
So what is his title? head scout?
Greensince69
Sounds like Terry really ws one of those people caught in the peter principle. Get promoted to the level you are incomptent in. It also sounds like he is smart enough to know it and wants to go back and focus on what he loves. THis actually may work out well as he can uncover gems but does not have to make the decision on them, that can fall to mangini. My bet is the criteria may change a bit also as the cerebral will rise a bit and the pure athletics may become a little less important.

Maxman
Wow. That kind of puts the theory to rest that he was mad about this. This isn't bad. Let him worry about the draft. Let The Royal Tenenbaum handle all negotiations\free agents. They could have done worse.
SouthernJet
Wow. OK, looks like this guy just said 'Get me off the merry-go-around' I cant do rides anymore. Put me back in my comfort zone and I do LOVE the Jets. Bradway had a rep as a super-scout when he came here. OK, he didnt have the chops for a GM, but he WAS a superscout. I view this as a positive as long as he gave Woody a few bucks back.
Bob
This is certainly a surprise. I was sure he'd be gone to KC after the draft. It seems like a positive development. We'll see.
4HCrew
To me he is still the guy that valued Doug Jolley...
SouthernJet
To me he is still the guy that valued Doug Jolley... again, he doesnt have a Pro based evaluation skill it seems. Leave him to the soph/juniors/seniors in college,,,write his report then let Mangini decide.
