NHL players propose plan to restart in July and play for Cup in September

Yes, you read that headline right. According to Frank Seravalli of TSN, some of the league’s top players are proposing to the NHL to restart the regular season, or a reduced number of games in July. Some of those rumored players are Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, to name a few. No matter what you think of the proposal, the fact the players are engaged and involved in the process aside from NHL executives is extremely promising.

I really don’t care what some think of the proposal, and I’m open to anything so long as the Cup is awarded this season. What’s important is the fact the players are as involved as the executives to save the season. Here’s @frank_seravalli breaking their proposal down.

Would prefer they started sooner that July. Last I heard they were hoping to open arenas in April sometime with no crowds. I want hockey back, but July-Sept. is wayyyy to long.
