Who exactly is going to pay Mike White starters money today?  As well as he’s played filing in, who is totally convinced he’s a starter?  So why would the Jets not give him a short term deal to win the job and then get paid big money

i dont think we would go over the 10 mil that Zachs making for White if he doesnt play another snap. someone will give him about 15 mil a year for maybe 2 years to see if he could be a starter. 

White has shown enough for a QB hungry team to pay him 15 mil a year. and White has been here for 2 years. he can see he is better than Zach but this team is bending over backwards to given Zach every opportunity to be QB1. why would he want to come back here when another team will probably give him a real chance. 

this has worked out perfectly for JD. White is medically forced out and Zach gets more games. then next year White is offered more than JD wants to pay cause he sees White as a backup and Zach has all the tools and White leaves and we bring in some guy who wont win the job. 

next year we are a run heavy team with Hall and Knight and Zach is asked to do the bare minimum. they hope this will give him time to figure it out but if he doesnt the run game and defense should be enough to get us around 500 and play meaniful December games. 

we went to 2 AFCGGs with the same formula and the same bad QB play, they probably think they could get away with that for one year and hope Zach can figure it out. if White cant make it back for Jax he is done as a Jet

All sounds good but he’s not getting $30 mil to prove he can play, can win and can stay on the field.  
I also like the idea that if ZW shlts the bed again starting tomorrow the Jets aren’t a QB needy team that needs a QB so we’ll let MW go.

and just looking around i think these teams could be in play for White

Indy. they need a QB and might pick out of the top 10

Carolina. definitely needs a QB. same as above.

Atlanta. Marriotta is not tearing it up down there

TB. if Brady retires. if they win the division they will pick 19 or higher if they advance. they wont get one of the top rookie QBs.

Washington. maybe they think hes better than Hienke.

Giants. maybe there not sold on Jones. they had a chance to resigh him during the bye but only made an offer to Barkley.

you never know if any of these teams think White is better than what they have. if they want him they will easily outbid us cause JD thinks Zach is a FQB and White isnt.

15 mil a year is not alot if you think White can be your starter. hey it might be less but i just dont think JD will offer him more than somebody else. could be 10 mil.

$15 mil is more than fans want to give up for a Cooper when we needed a WR.  Or a DE.  But I would give him a one year $15M or so deal

Backup's are given opportunities in less than ideal circumstances. 

There's a reason why the backup is playing--- and it's always bad.
