Maxman
My sports calendar informs me that on this day in 1987 the Twins acquired Dan Gladden. The calendar states that he was a big part of the Twins improbable run to the World Series providing speed, defense, and "a cocksure bravado" that ignited the Twins. Which makes we wonder...what the hell is a cocksure bravado? And how much does such a thing cost on an hourly basis?
Mavrik
Danny Gladden was a friggin stud. He was Roger Dorn-esque...as I like to say. Played for the Tigers for a couple years too after the Twins.
Maxman
That is a great pic. The '87 Twins were scary. They were an average team. They played average ball all year. Put them in the dome and nobody could touch them in the postseason that year. Amazing.
