uart
That is not a biscuit, that is an "all butter scone" I had 4 of them not one hour ago and I just checked the packet, if Chad dips them in his gravy then well he is weird even if I do wear his shirt, they are good with cream/Jam or with butter smeared over, I guess its another of those "southern" things Yeah, I'd actually probably call it a scone too, but down south... Anyway, this is a REAL scone.. oh god, well, I'm hungry.
Blurredorunfocused
Thanks for all the replies guys.....and girl:) Whatever it was Big AL NYC posted now THAT looks bloody lovely:cool: as long as it was`nt announced as "gravy & biscuits" I`d have no trouble eating that. Think I`d prefer some scones right now, it is breakfast time over here.....sort of.. So in summary - Biscuits & Gravy(Southern Stylee) - Lovely Scones dipped in gravy or anything by the divinyls - unlovely:eek:
PatsFanTX
I guess our biscuit is pretty close to your scones as well. Scones or biscuits with butter are good, not gravy. I'll stick with it's a "southern thing." TX, do you like biscuits with gravy..? No, I hate the stuff. Also hate grits and friggn' Mexican food. The only good thing I discovered down here is fried turkeys. You don't get anything better than that.

I believe there may even be some chipped beef in the gravy but that could be another dish entirely.
raffyD
If you're ever in Kansas (yeah right) look me up. I'll make up the best biscuits and gravy ever. I just made up a batch of them last night as a matter of fact. Can I come too?

SouthernJet
Gravy for breakfast? now thats just wrong, whats wrong with those southerners? never heard of white pepper gravy, its just brown over here.. so it sounds like in the South and in England the gravy color matches the womans teeth
justincredible
Sausage gravy and biscuits is great, and I'm from Ohio. It really isn't a southern thing, at least not around here.

justincredible
they pizza in the south, but that doesnt make it a southern thing True, but I would consider sausage gravy and biscuits more of a "country" thing than a Southern thing. I'm pretty sure it's a staple in any rural area of the country, no matter what region. Either way, it's delicious.
