Blurredorunfocused
.....A few years back a Jets game was on TV over here, I can`t for the life of me think which one, but at some point when little was happening it cut to a segment with Chad answering questions one of which was "whats your favourite meal?" his answer was "Gravy & Biscuits" now over here biscuits are things like digestives, rich tea and bourbons etc we dip them in our tea and they`re lovely especially ginger snaps........but we would`nt dip them in our gravy as that would be just gross, so what on earth was Chad on about and what is it you refer to as biscuits? Believe it or not I gave a ride to South Boston to a couple of drunk Irish guys a few years back after a Pats game. They had taken the train down and missed the return trip. These guys had been in the US for about 3 weeks!

No. Americans call YOUR biscuits cookies. Geez people, stop dropping the ball on this one... Here is what he's talking about: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_151,00.html Its like a semi-crumbly roll of bread, basically. In no way is this related to the digestives or godforbid Jaffa Cakes that you might refer to with that term. Sorry for the confusion. I spent the first half of 2005 in Scotland, so I'm pretty hep to the jive over there.

That is not a biscuit, that is an "all butter scone" I had 4 of them not one hour ago and I just checked the packet, if Chad dips them in his gravy then well he is weird even if I do wear his shirt, they are good with cream/Jam or with butter smeared over, I guess its another of those "southern" things
war ensemble
I guess our biscuit is pretty close to your scones as well. Scones or biscuits with butter are good, not gravy. Gravey abd biscuits are one of the best things you could ever eat. my greandmother made it every morning for me whe I was a kid. it's not gravey like you would have on thnaks giving, it's bacon grease, with flour in it.. and then add milk! its white gravey and probably one of the best things you'll ever eat.. seeing as chad's family lives about 45 minutes from me in knoxville tn I can see why he loves this food so much! take it easy on us redneck's... Preston Howley III
In the Navy, we called biscuits and gravy, sh*t on a shingle. That stuff will knock your ears off. Every time I go back south, I make sure and get a Grade A Southern breakfast. Breakfast on the mess deck, either on a Navy mess deck or a a Marine Corps mess deck, best meal of the day. Hands down. Dinner in North and South Carolina- plenty of soul food- Okra, chicken- anything you can dip in a battered egg and roll around in bread crumbs and deep fry- thats the sht, yo. I'm toughing NJ out for two more years so my daughter can finish HS, and then I am so outta here and beating a path down south. The way I look at it is, I can pretty much punch my own ticket after putting my current gig on my resume. F*ck new jersey, this slumlord, rat f*ck, polluted, shakedown, pig state.
