Kidhuman
offer Roger Clemens the pitching coach position? I think it would be good with the young pitchers and also help keep Pettitte around for awhile. Whats your opinion?
madmike1
No. Hopefully the days of players getting coaching jobs with zero experience just because they were good players are over. Dave Eiland is a great choice.

GimmeShelter
Not unless the Pitching Coach job comes with a family plan here Roger chooses when he wants to be with the team. I hear Dave Eialand (spelling?)is being offered the job.
shutout
I don't know about Roger being on the coaching staff but I'd love to see Girardi find a spot for Paul O'Neill.

Maxman
Yeah when Pettite pitches Roger can go home because Andy doesn't need any help. Roger ain't coaching. Let's see him work harder next year for 800k. It ain't happening. He is going to retire at some point and take a few years I am sure. Did you see his wife in that cell phone commercial? She was pissed when the boys from NY wanted him back the last time.
Bob
I can see Clemens being one of those old Yankees who does some spring training coaching in Tampa. No way he takes on the grind of an everyday coaching gig, traveling and all.
