jetsrule128 Posted September 10, 2008 Share Posted September 10, 2008 DRAGONS TO CONDUCT OPEN TRYOUTS Tryouts will take place Saturday, November 1st The New York Dragons have scheduled their first open tryout for the 2009 season on Saturday, November 1st, 2008 at 8:55 a.m. This event will be held at the Dragons Practice Facility at the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex in Uniondale, NY. There will be a registration fee of $75 for those who pay by credit card in advance by registering online and a fee of $100 for those who pay in cash at the door. Deadline for the advance payments is Wednesday October 27th at 4:00PM and all further payments must be made in cash on the day of the tryout. The onsite registration opens at 7:30AM and will end promptly at 8:30AM. All participants will be required to fill out all forms, including an injury waiver and no one will be permitted to register after 8:30am. Current Dragon and All-Arena DS Billy Parker made the team as a result of his attendance and performance at an open tryout. Former Dragons WR Chris Anthony and DB Will Holder were also discovered out of open tryouts. The tryout will be held inside at the Dragons' practice facility at Mitchell Field and will start promptly after the registration period has ended. Participants should wear a T-shirt, gym shorts and turf sneakers (no cleats). Water will be provided, but it is encouraged that participants bring their own snack. There will be a variety of drills which participants will be tested on from basic running to more advance simulated play. Please Note: - At this time, the Dragons will not be trying out kickers. Please watch that you do not head north on the Cross Island about 5 miles from the airport. Proceed East on the Southern State Pkwy to the Meadowbrook Pkwy North (exit 22N). Take exit M4 and follow signs to the Coliseum which will take you to Charles Lindbergh Boulevard Once on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, follow signs to Mitchell Field Parking just past the Omni Building. From Suffolk County: Take the LIE west to Northern State Parkway West (Exit 42). Take the Northern State to the Meadowbrook Parkway South (exit 31), keep right on the NSP after exit 32. Take Meadowbrook Pkwy south to exit M4W. Take the first right on the exit for Charles Lindbergh Boulevard. Once on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, follow signs to Mitchell Field Parking just past the Omni Building (first light), about 3/4 mile from Meadowbrook.
