124
Culpepper will start for Lions Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on October 11, 2009 9:22 AM ET Daunte Culpepper didn't win his training camp battle with Matthew Stafford, but he will get a chance to be a starting quarterback again. NFL Network's Kara Henderson confirmed Sunday morning what was expected all week: Stafford's knee injury will prevent him from starting against the Steelers. Culpepper has his work cut out for him, but the start will be crucial for his free agent value in 2010. It's hard to imagine another team giving Culpepper a legitimate chance to start, but an impressive performance would help his case. The Lions face the Packers next week before a bye. Initial reports following Stafford's injury indicated that Detroit was likely to sit Stafford for two games.

flgreen
tough break for the kid Actually IMO it's good for the kid. He gets to sit a few games and think about what he is seeing without having been benched. He can then come back again this season and attempt to impliment what he has learned
