R3V1S24
This Florida trip is key, all the Flyers, Bruins and Thrashers lost yesterday so it leaves the door WIDE open for us, and not to mention our last 6 game, 2 of them are against the Flyers. Here's the rest of the schedule. 4/2 - @ Lightning (a young Lightning team could be very dangous spoiling our playoff hopes) 4/3 - @ Panthers (well they did beat the Bruins, watch out) 4/6 - @ Sabres (The mighty Sabres, 1st in the Northeast division) 4/7 - vs. Leafs (A little revange from the OT loss last week wouldn't hurt) 4/9 - vs. Flyers (Oh boy, this is very key) 4/11 - @Flyers (this is the game that could determine if were in the playoffs or not.) 3-0-1 in the last 4 games so were hot coming down in the strech, lets hope Ranger fans if we can make it 6 straight playoff apperances. Bugg
I'm really ambivalent about them getting the playoffs. There is never anything bad about making the playoffs, but 2 problems- 1. A playoff berth allows the Dolan gang to paper over this mess and bring back Sather rather than clean house. And let me speak heresy-Sather means Mark Messier someday soon becomes GM. This kind of thing, making a popular superstar the GM, has NEVER WORKED HERE. In fact most superstars-Wayne Gretzky, Ted Williams, Michael Jordan-make lousy GMs and coaches. great GMS and coaches are almost always marginal pros, or not even that. We should be looking for the next Lou Lamirello or Craig Patrick or Ray Shero(the later 2 who had connections to the Rangers), instead we'll get Messier. And during Sather's tenure (or more accurately Dolan's)the Rangers organization has waved goodbye to DOn Maloney(successful now in Phoenix) and John Davidson(some success with the Blues).Instead Dolan will sell more 1994 nostaglia. That's crap. The Rangers need to clean house. This playoff berth will prevent that. That would be a bad thing. 2. The only reason this berth is remotely possible is the complete suckitude of the Eastern Conference spare the top dogs of the Pens, Caps and Devils(andd may be Ryan Miller and the Sabres are a decent team). The rangers are 1-7 in OT. That sucks. Imagine how bad the other teams are that they are chaisng to allow them an opening.Further the 7 or 8 seed, even one with the King in goal, is going to lose in the 1st round in 4 or 5 games. What really is the point of that other than giving Dolan 2 home games?
Sharrow
I'm not sure if I want them to make it or not. I don't think they can go deep, but Lundqvist can be good enough in net to steal a series against a top seed.
Sharrow
Also, I would love for them to be able to knock the gay ass flyers out.
Bugg
When they face a good team like the Sabres, they can't do it. The talent isn't there. They still could win out and get th 8 spot, since the MakeBelieves stink and the Flyers are up and down. But again, they would have to face one of those top teams in the 1st round even if they got there, and that won't end well.
Gang Green Forever
They have to win the last two games against the flyers to get in.
faba
They have to win the last two games against the flyers to get in. Yeah they can still do it-have to root to get in because you just never know what can happen. The dump Sather can wait until we are officially done. Sharrow
Today at 3 PM. I might have to watch this game online. Damn it would be sweet to see the Flyers knocked out. Good luck Rangers.

Bugg
if rangers make it I think they lose in first roundAnd Sather gets to stay. Or more accurately, keeps his NY job while he also keeps playing golf in Palm Springs.Plus Dolan probably turns a profit with 2 extra home games. Lose/lose all around.
