billiejimmy
Biography: Junior college transfer who broke into the starting lineup as a senior then posted 28/1.5/1, after a junior season that included 20 tackles and two for loss. Positives: Large space eater in the middle of the line who commands double-team blocks. Starts with good knee bend, plays with solid pad level, and fires off the snap with a good first step. Jolts defenders at the point of attack, displays power in his lower body and forceful up the field. Bulrushes opponents off the line of scrimmage and show the ability to collapse the pocket. Negatives: Does not play with great balance. Gets tall as the play proceeds, rarely uses his hands, and makes himself an easy target to block. More of a straight-line defender who lacks pass-rushing skills. Analysis: Tevaseu is a developing lineman with the size and girth to hold down the nose tackle position at the next level. He offers a solid amount of upside and could develop into a solid backup for a 3-4 defense. Projection: FA
#27TheDominator
This tells us plenty. They are done with the 11 DBs active. This guy may be active or may be a hedge against injury if somebody got dinged. We'll see. He'll probably be around next year either way. Here is a highlight reel. Nothing earth shattering, but jetsrule might enjoy it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EmSnKXjJPI

ARodJetsFan
Apparently Ellis is banged up. It's a knee thing. Hear he didn't practice Friday. That's been the case with Ellis the last month. This move has nothing to do with Ellis's health. It has everything to do with Mendenhall rushing for 99yds & a TD against us in week 15. Obviously Rex & Pettine want to stop Mendenhall in his tracks this game. MTV will be used as an extra D-Lineman to keep the rotation fresh & more stout against the run. I think it may have more to do with Woody than Ellis. They have used both Turner and Hunter at DT on short yardage. With Woody down, Hunter start and they may be worried about Turner going down. Ducasse probably isn't ready to step in.
visajets
Isnt that the reason they keep guys on the practice to utilize them when needed? MT could be a run stuffer and Rex feels he could help us today. Imagine the story lines if he has a huge game. Keep the faith guys. Lets not be critical of these personnel moves at this point and time. Rex seems to have given up on VG.
ARodJetsFan
If that were the case, why didn't they use the guy at all during the season? I They cut Kroul not that long ago and demoted him to the practice squad - he was the extra D-Lineman up til he was cut. MTV was the next guy waiting to get a crack at the active roster. Maybe because this is the AFC Championship game and the Rex wants the Jets to win it? Rex could also feel that this will be even more of a running ground & pound football game because of the extreme cold/conditions and wants the D-Line up to the task of stopping the run ALL NIGHT LONG.
