Phil Simms vs Desmond Howard

Howard attended the NFL-Xperience in Dallas Saturday and tweeted that he had an altercation with CBS announcer Phil Simms. A threat was made. Police apparently had to break it up.

According to Howard’s twitter feed, Simms was bent out of shape that Howard mentioned on ESPN earlier this season that an LSU-Tennessee game (Matt Simms plays for the Vols) would feature “three of the worst QBs in the SEC.”

This sounds impossible to believe, right? Could the 55-year-old Phil Simms still be jammed up about something that was said months ago?

UPDATE: Simms released a statement last night about the incident – in which he called it a “private conversation that became heated.” This morning, Simms went on Mike Francesa’s radio show and according to Bob Raissman, said, “There were words. Were they heated? Yeah they probably were. But at no time did I think we might actually fight.”

Simms has to know better. Howard has to be honest when criticizing teams and players and Simms knows this. It's sweet that daddy has to stick up for his son and all, but he shouldn't even bother with someone as professionally insignificant as Howard.

I bet Phil Simms believes gender is a social construct.

This is not shocking.

Didn't someone post that Sims allegedly went off on him and his dad in Pittsburgh?

The duo said something about Brady and Sims flipped out on the escalator, cursing and challenging them to a fight.

Sims is out of ******* control!

LOVE IT!
