Do the Raiders want Mark Sanchez?

It doesn't matter if you "know the system" if you suck.  Besides, Sanchez has yet to throw a regular season pass in Marty's system.

We need fresh blood in here at the QB position, not the type of distraction Sanchez will provide.  I'd strongly prefer Schaub and wouldn't mind someone like Shaun Hill, a career backup who can be relied on in a spot-start when needed.

Most teams ( potentially all) get rid of the former starting QB when they move on to a new guy. Keeping the previous starting QB is simply unheard of. It's way too much of a distraction and the team can split down the middle.

We need to get rid of Sanchez if we are going to move on to Geno.  Period.

Most teams also get rid of fired GM's when a new one is hired.  Bradway has now out lived Tanny , and started on Idzik.

Sadly the Jets aren't "most teams"

If the JETS handle this right, the best play for a trade would be to ask for 6th this year with a conditional pick for next year like something along the lines of

4th rounder if he starts for them,

3rd rounder if he starts 10 or more game,

2nd rounder if he is on the roster at beginning of FA next season.

Good Lord!  From your mouth to God's ears.  But this type of rumor usually means someone is playing both sides against the middle.  Jets, Mets, Knicks and Rangers provide the leverage and always wind up taking it in the culo.

Probowl is not a real accolade, Schaub sucks worse than Sanchez!

True, Schaub was horrendous last season.  But if you look at his career he has been consistently playing at a high level. Not a bad roll of the dice, hoping he reverts to what has been been his long-term form.   I don't know if he can fit MM's scheme, but for another team he could be a steal.

ahhhhhh very interesting.  There you are correct.   I think they relied on the little known rule pertaining to someone who never should have been in the previous position in order to keep Bradway around.  So maybe Sanchez CAN be retained.   :D

The Raiders may covet Schaub currently, but the Texans are apparently a likely landing spot for Sanchez once Schaub is gone:

In addition to Schaub, the Raiders are "looking at" Josh Freeman, NFL Media's Albert Breer has reported. Dennis Allen's club has been connected to Michael Vick and Mark Sanchez as well.

Speaking of Sanchez, Rapoport expects him to be a prime candidate to replace Schaub in Houston.

All of this is dependent on the Jets dumping Sanchez and the Texans cutting ties with Schaub. Both moves are on the horizon.
