PFSIKH
The best player in the game apparently. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/10684892/miguel-cabrera-detroit-tigers-agree-10-year-deal-worth-almost-300-million
BroadwayJoe12
I was waiting for this domino to fall, it's going to be very interesting to see what type of deal LA gives Trout. He's the first million dollar two-plus player, so he's already breaking ground there. I've gotta imagine they're going to buy out all his arbitration years and extend him through 2020 at about $25ish million per and still allow him to hit FA again at 30. As much as I love Miggy and Kershaw, this is probably the one contract where the team gets prime years for the entirety of the deal. (I know Kershaw is young, but I just have a hard time seeing a power-pitcher stay healthy for 7 straight years, although it's possible I suppose. I'm sure the Dodgers will get a number of good years and enjoy the deal, but I still see the Trout contract being the best long-term deal in recent history whenever it happens). The Angels are dumb if they allow him to hit free agency at 25 with the Yankees and Dodgers more than willing to throw cash at him. And as you said, it would be the most sensible contract in regards to team/player benefits at the end of the contract.

Just about every team that can spend some money, .i.e Boston, Detroit, Philadelphia, Texas, would take their shot at Trout.
