4HCrew
I think the Jets now more than ever need someone within the team to really step up and be the leader of this team. The spokesperson and power within the locker room. Should it be the QB? Vilma? They need a Scott Stevens type...yes the one with his number getting retired tonight
spjets
i still think big KEV is the Offence leader and VILMA is the Defence leader...

Scott Dierking
Yup. Leadership is more of an action than a title, but sometimes you need somebody that will challnge people and get in their face. The Jets have had the misfortune of having soem quiet leaders-Martin, Ellis, Abraham-Who are not really the fiery leadership types. Pennington could have been that on offense, but obviously he is not in tehre enough. Maybe some of the Cox bravado will rub off on Vilma.
faba
On offense I think you really need the leader to be your QB- sadly that is one thing we are lacking with so much uncertainty in the QB position for our Jets
4HCrew
I agree someone that brings accountability to the team. I could never could get a good read on Mawae but maybe Vilma could step it up like Ray does in Baltimore.

When Reed punched Vilma in the face, he should have been cut on the spot. Vilma's leadership was compromised because of that. And not one of his teammates came to his defense? NIGHT STALKER
From experience, I can tell you 100% that you lead by example. Talking **** can only get you so far...when you walk the walk, people take notice and follow your lead.

Maxman
Chad can't be the leader from the sidelines. That is a huge problem for them right now. Vilma is definitely the guy on defense.
SouthernJet
All right. I will be the Leader for the team.
AVM
i think its obvious that our great DT, D-rob, should be our leader. His constant hardwork and go get-em attitude has propelled him to the top of the ranks of the DT's of the league we are talking about MADDEN football right? The Fat Man
Agreed. James Reed punches Vilma in the mouth and get away with it. He could have hurt his eye or something. This type of crap from a bench warmer who is lucky to play in the NFL next year. I would have cut his ass the day after. Herman probably blew him.
