124
I always liked him in San Diego. He'll make a pretty good slot WR in New England. He's their style of WR. Be able to catch the ball 5-10 yards from the line of scrimmage and run your ass off.

shutout
solid signing by the Pats. Caldwell is a decent WR,not a #1,but a borderline 2/3 guy who should have no problem replacing Givens in that offense.

faba
Patriots sign WR Caldwell NFL.com wire reports FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (March 17, 2006) -- The New England Patriots signed unrestricted free agent receiver Reche Caldwell. Caldwell spent his first four seasons with the San Diego Chargers, where he caught 76 passes for 950 yards and seven touchdowns in 47 games. The Chargers' second-round pick in 2002 had career-highs of 28 receptions and 352 yards last season. The Patriots are thin at receiver with the loss of free agents David Givens and Andre Davis, and the uncertain future of veteran Troy Brown. Caldwell replacing Givens I think not a fair exchange
