The team has shown good pluck. Hopefully they have now treaded water long enough to allow some of the big bats (other than Big Mike) to get hot. I would assume the rotation lines up 1. Rodon 2. Cole 3. Schmidt. After that it'll be interesting to see if Nestor is ready / gets the ball for Game 4. If he does, Gil should be at the ready to come in for Rodon in Game 1. Wells wasn’t even really supposed to be the catcher this year. What’s really hurt the Yankees is that Volpe kind of stinks and they’ve got a cavernous hole at first base. Wells is a weird situation. The dude had a .940 OPS in July & August and then completely fell apart in September (.411 OPS). Not sure if the league caught up to him or if he’s just worn out from his first full time big league season as a catcher. The problem is, what are the options? You can move Stanton to clean up, but then you are stacking righties together and Cleveland will expose that with their elite bullpen. You can swap Chisholm, but he’s also not hitting.
