A few things:

1. This team cannot get a 2 out RBI hit to save its life.

2. Cole has to show up tonight. His slumped shoulder girly emo-feelings out there on the mound are BS.

3. Judge is getting good pitches to hit every game and he is missing them.

Cole showed up.

Bullpen has been absolutely masterful and continues to be the only thing that Cashman is consistently good at building.

The team has shown good pluck.  Hopefully they have now treaded water long enough to allow some of the big bats (other than Big Mike) to get hot.

I would assume the rotation lines up 1. Rodon 2. Cole 3. Schmidt.  After that it'll be interesting to see if Nestor is ready / gets the ball for Game 4.  If he does, Gil should be at the ready to come in for Rodon in Game 1.

This team would be the favorites to win the world series if Hal had spent the extra coin to bring in another top starter and another legit bat.

We all like Austin Wells, had a nice year, probably has a solid future.

But a guy like that hitting cleanup right now? You kidding me? How does a team with this payroll have a rookie batting .240 hitting cleanup?

Hal didnt go the extra mile again this past offseason. It might cost them if they make it to the World Series.

Meh. Wells wasn’t even really supposed to be the catcher this year.  What’s really hurt the Yankees is that Volpe kind of stinks and they’ve got a cavernous hole at first base.

Wells is a weird situation. The dude had a .940 OPS in July & August and then completely fell apart in September (.411 OPS). Not sure if the league caught up to him or if he’s just worn out from his first full time big league season as a catcher.

The problem is, what are the options?

You can move Stanton to clean up, but then you are stacking  righties together and Cleveland will expose that with their elite bullpen.

You can swap Chisholm, but he’s also not hitting. Although at least he won’t ground into double plays which is important hitting behind Judge and Soto.
