SouthernJet
How did I miss this thread before?! If I'm asleep by 3, it's a good night. ok, i will repeat: here is a tip: Have the radio on very low and tuned to a talk show,, not a music station,, low enough where you can make out every few words if u concentrate,, that will be enough to not have your mind fixated on program (which music does)..but you will hear enough to take your mind off whatever is bringing on insomnia,, this works in many, many cases.. best all talk format , with enough interest to make you semi pay attention is Coast to Coast,, in NYC area its on WABC 770 or WTIC 1080 from 1 AM to 5 AM http://www.coasttocoastam.com/
jetophile
ok, i will repeat: here is a tip: Have the radio on very low and tuned to a talk show,, not a music station... A lot of times I put the TV on so low I can barely hear it. That works occasionally. My thing is that I often WON'T go to bed when the first urge to sleep hits (creative energy); then forget it, all bets are off after that. I bought a White Noise machine. http://www.white-noise.us/screen580_980.htm I was starting to get used to it somewhat, but even on the lower setting, it's a little TOO loud for me. Being unable to sleep, a problem since childhood. And I am a Night Owl by nature. It does seem to by cyclical somehow. I don't know. Frustrating.
