This is the All-Star game for high school players. International players vs. US players. Just a few observations:

~ Greg Paulus is making a HUGE mistake by not playing college football and instead playing basketball for Duke. Paulus, for those that don't know, was the 2nd ranked high school QB this past season. He has a ton of assists, and his team runs smoothly when he's out there, but he's so limited physically compared to the other players out there. He has no lateral quickness, and does not have a second gear to get by defenders. Shoulda played football, Greg.

~ I was wondering what was different about the international players this year. In prior years, this game was always real close, with the International Team running a very tight precision offense while the US kids just wanted to block shots and dunk it. This year, something was different. Then it dawned on me. The International Team kids have gotten worse as a result of trying to emulate US basketball players. They're dribbling it between their legs, shooting off-balance 3's and looking to take it off the bounce. Pretty sad to see.

~ George Ravelling is the Director of International Competition at Nike now. Ravelling, one of the all-time criminals of collegiate athletics, being around kids is scary.
