Until then, I believe teams can still negotiate with their current about-to-become-FA's players. Players typically have until about 1 wk before that to file for free-agency if there's an a clause in their contract that has a player opt-out after x-years. (Like what happened to T.O. and Northcutt, when those dumbasses & their dumbass agents didn't read the memo from the NFL that they changed the date & lost their rights).
