Blackout
on baseball tonight, they had an interesting stat that shows Arod's rbis dont call come in blowouts Out of Arods 53 RBI, 38 of them came when NY was within either being 3 runs ahead, or 3 runs below the lead Out of Lee's 52 RBI, 38 of them came when Chicago was within either being 3 runs ahead or three runs below the lead so either Arod is more clutch than presumed on here, or Derrek Lee is somehow over-rated as well *waits for someone to come in and debate this*
GimmeShelter
Arod not hitting in clutch is a made up label off of one year where his avg with RISP was bad. Yank fans needed a goat for last years ALCS collapse and Arod fit the bill. Visit the Captain Clutch thread and you will see how some labels once researched prove to be simply media or fan made up without merit or statistical support. The Troll
How many game winning hits does A-Rod have this season? Go find a stat for that and then compare the clutchless of D-Lee and GayRod.
stormshadow19
How many game winning hits does A-Rod have this season? Go find a stat for that and then compare the clutchless of D-Lee and GayRod. Just for the record, neither one of them is all that clutch. It's kinda hard to be clutch in baseball, unless you do it when it matters. Like, say, the playoffs; a place where D-Lee will never get a chance to shine, cuase the Cubs suck
shawn306
Here is what you need to know about A-Rod in the clutch. In the 2001 ALCS Clemens buzzed him. After that he did nothing. Last year. Same thing. Pedro buzzes him and A-Rod went into the tank the rest of the series.
