Jade Green
Great Nazzy is washed up and Slats gives him $4.5 million, and I think it's for 2 years, that makes way less sense than signing Jagr. Kalinin is a number 5 defensemen, I hope we did not give him more then 1 year at $1.5 million.
MasonJet
Naslund is clearly on the downside of his career but it makes sense to get an experienced wing considering our other wings are really young guys like Callahan, Dawes, Prucha, and Zherdev. Prucha is 25 and the other guys are only 23. And according to TSN, Naslund got 8 million for 2 years. Kalinin isn't anything more than a 3rd-pairing defenseman, but we did need one of those after dealing Tyutin and Backman. And I hear that prospect D-man Corey Potter might be ready for the team this year.
JetsMan57
Nasland and Redden, two more guys on the down slope of their career. In other words, more "names" for the Rangers. Big whoop.

vanDoug
Well, Naslund won't be missed here, nor will his whiney responses in interviews. He was clearly not the leader they thought he could be. Maybe in the right situation he can return to being productive.
SweetLee83
Kalinin was mostly garbage in Buffalo. Everyone hated him, but there were stretches where he would play really well, and gave a false hope to everyone that he was finally going to turn the corner. Maybe this change of scenery is what he needed? Either way, he's fine for a 5th or 6th defensemen.
