Dustin Fox

TS, you were asking about Dustin Fox the other day, here's some nice info--44 inch vertical?

This cat is going to be sick at OSU Pro-Day...Even Clarett could run a 4.6 40 on that fast track, too be bad Tressell won't allow him back...Maybe he can workout Tenneesee's track, where even 300 pounders run 4.5's

As cameras from the NFL Network stared him down, Dustin Fox knew his impressionable moment had arrived.

I know this has been discussed but do you think any team will give him a shot at CB -the next Sehorn perhaps or will he be automatically slotted to safety. Tim Fox being a safety works more so to "push" him in that direction

Faba, me and Bitonti got a E-Mail from a family member of BYU CB Brandon Heaney on this topic.

Basiciacally, his uncle thanked us for saying some positive things about him when no else will, but is concerned his perception is skewed because he's a white CB.

His uncle (and BYU officials do to) claims he can run a 4.4 40 or better...He won the MVP of an All-Star game with 2 picks for TD's and he's still dogged as "too slow" and no good by the likes of ITL.

Yea, I think perception harms Fox...No way, even though he's as athletic as some of these other CB's and played at a high level as a Soph. and Jr., will they put him at CB.

Fans in general are brutal towards all CB's. They never blame the DLine for getting no pressure or the safety for blowing a coverage, they always blame the CB...

Prominent black socialist Harry Edwards once said: If there are a number of real good white point guards in the NBA, why not a few white CB's in the NFL?

Edwards basically said NFL teams are "terrified" of the PR hit, if a white CB struggles even a little in a game...They don't want to deal with it...I think Fox plays FS...

By the way, I did a spot light on Fox at DD.com and the Colts have been following him since he was 17 years old....Rams and Chiefs make sense too, since his much less talented older brother played for the Rams a bit (in Vermeil's era).

WHAT!???!?? A 44-inch VERT!???? That cannot be right. Just sick. For those of you who don't know what a 40 inch vert looks like, undertstand that Vince Carter has about a 52-inch vert, and that most regular people don't even get into the 20's. AT my best, when I could dunk, I was clocking a solid 30-inch vert.

Rigs, the only Q I'd have about Fox is, does he have the toughness to play safety?

The only kind of vertical you need to worry about is Max's 4 inch vertical, fag.

Not sure TS, I wonder that myself....His 7 reps at the 225lb bench press last week was the clear lowpoint of his combine time...

He might be more of a player that patrols the middle of the field, than a run defender...Most respected scouts compare him to Antione Winfield, who can really tackle well.

Believe it or not, speaking of rare white CB's, former Wyoming CB Trent Gamble holds the combine record for lifting at CB--Like 25 reps back in 2000...He wasn't anything more than a special teamer for the Dolphins for a while, until a knee injury knocked him out of football recently.

RIGS!! BTW, I remembered who the white safety was from the Florida school that they were talking about running in the low 4.3's. I had the wrong school-- it was Todd Johnson from Florida. My bad.

Yea, Todd Johnson is pretty good player for Chicago--started last season and played well....I bet he doesn't run that fast--more of a 4.5 player...But, as they said at the combine, the average safety is in the 4.6 area, so he's not slow by any means.

I wonder how how high up the boards Fox goes, though. It could be interesting if we're sitting there in the third round and he's on the board and we've gone OT/CB and DT with our first two picks.

My thoughts exactly. I was impressed with his quickness during the driils. I believe he can be another Troy Palumala (SP) type. But i'd have no fear of putting him at corner if i were a coach.

I thought Fox needed to have a huge senior season in 2004 and could've jumped into the first 2 rounds, but he basically missed his senior season due to injuries...He was vastly unsung as a soph and Jr., though.

I always thought 3rd round, due to his off the charts athletic ability.

Stiller, Jim Tressell wasn't scared and he was rewarded....Outside of getting smoked a couple times by Braylon (who isn't?) a couple games, he did real well in his career...Actually won a national title with him as the teams stats leader in the secondary.

R44, was just thinking of how deep this draft class looks. I honestly believe teams will get quality starters in the 4-6 round range that will be able to help a team immediately. How do you see this thing shaping up?

At CB, definitely. This group is so good at CB, that real good prospects can be had on Day 2 of the draft at the spot.

Overall, the feeling is, that this will be a "average" at the very top (top 20)....But gets real strong as the draft goes forward....

2004 draft had better players in the top half of round 1, but this this draft should be real strong after the 1st round.

Lots of OLB that can rush the QB--good for the Steelers?

Best positions: CB; DE; ILB; FS & SS; RB...

Lesser talent: O-line; DT; 4-3 OLB's and TE.

I have a question for ya about a player that was drafted either last year or the year before, R44.

His name is James Harrison, i believe the Ravens drafted him, i could be wrong though. I think they did because we signed him off of their practice squad. He plays outside backer for us and is considered one of the strongest players on our team. If you can, could ya get me info on this player?

I read somewhere that he was drafted low due to his height. I've seen him replace Joey Porter (suspended a game) and Clarke Haggans (injury) without us missing a beat and have become quite a fan of his. Thanks so much in advance for any info you can give me on him buddy.
