124
GIANTS LOCK UP JACOBS Posted by Mike Florio on February 25, 2009, 6:00 p.m. With running back Brandon Jacobs already limited by the franchise tag, the Giants made it even harder for him to leave by signing him to a four-year, $25 million contract. According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network and Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger, the deal includes $13 million in guaranteed money, and pays out $15 million in the first two years. At first blush, it looks a little light to us. Especially since Jacobs might not have much tread left on the tires in four years.
JiF
Its a smart deal for the Giants, pay him of the years he should definitely be productive and decrease his salary for the questionable years.

Thai Jet
No they don't. I knew that used to be the case but every year things change with the CBA. Thanks Sperm.
Sperm Edwards
I knew that used to be the case but every year things change with the CBA. Thanks Sperm. The deadline to franchise a player in 2009 has already come and gone.
