T0mShane
Manuel's management of the staff has been boggling at times, and the Mets still don't hustle, still don't get the big hit, and still play lackadaisical defense. Girardi seems to have alienated his veteran players, and his young players haven't really responded to him, and he's managing in a giant pressure cooker. Do either go? Or neither? Arsis
They should start interviewing for girardi's replacement.
Otter
The Mets will be in contention the whole season. Manuel will last the season. He'll get the ax if the Mets don't make the playoffs. I don't think the Yankees would fire Girardi in the middle of the season. George isn't in charge anymore. Too bad, I think Girardi is an awful manager who can't motivate his players. If the Yankees pull it together and make the playoffs, Girardi stays. But if they're on the outside looking in for the second straight year, he's gone. Borgoguy
I think manuel stays and Girardi is already gone. He blew it again last night not taking A.J. out in the eighth. The game was still in reach before the homer. Had he already given up? Dunce. This is high school level managerial error.
Matt39
Girardi had the "lets just go behind the woodshed now" look on his face last night.
Vicious89x
From Peter Abrahams blog. Interesting stuff The Blue Jays are 74-49 (.601) since Cito Gaston took over last June. Only the Angels (73-47, .608) have been better since then. In Toronto, Gaston is seen as the savior of a moribund franchise. Meanwhile, the Yankees are 104-90 (.536) under Joe Girardi and have spent a grand total of nine calendar days higher than third place in the last two years. The Yankees start play today 6.5 games out of first. If they’re 10 out on June 1, what happens then? The last thing Brian Cashman wants to do is change managers in the middle of the season. Girardi is not responsible for injuries and the mass decline of the relievers and those are the two biggest issues. The talent level of the roster at the moment is shockingly low. The Yankees are loaded with AAA and AAAA players. But if the Yankees don’t get started in the right direction soon, something has to give.

Matt39
If Girardi were to get fired this season I'd like to see Pena in there.
Lil Bit Special
I dont see either getting fired during the season unless either team goes on a prolonged losing streak while another division team goes on a prolonged winning streak.
