MikeJetsWord
With 16 games of college experiance. I don't think there's every been a highly drafted junior with so little amount of college that was anything but a bust.. We should be careful with him imo. No rush.. Irish Jet
That is more than 16. Joe also only started one game his rookie season (which he lost) and 7 of them his second year winning only 2 of them. All the more reason to think that even if Sanchez someday is a decent QB, it won't be this year. You know, I agree to an extent but you can't just go by the past. There's a first time for everything, you can't talk about QB's that have similar circumstances to Sanchez coming out of college as if they're clones of the guy. Individuals will react differently to these scenario's. Sanchez showed that he was a good college QB even if it was only in 16 starts. he obviously demonstrated enough potential to be considered such a good prospect. If he does start he wont be in a terrible situation. He's have a good running game and offensive line backing him up. It's not the most outrageous idea to think he could have some success early on, it's not like we'd be throwing him to the wolves, asking him to carry the team. If he's not ready though and it's clear that he's not, then Clemens should get the start.
SMC
We will see. What is the case in June does not necessarily mean what will happen in September. Of course Clemens should be ahead now. Rex gave an honest and obvious answer. If Sanchez was ahead right now 1 of 2 things had to happen (1) Clemens was awful, or (2) Sanchez is the Tiger Woods of the NFL. No collegiate QB, no matter if he has 16 starts of 52, would be ahead of a veteran QB with multiple years in the NFL and same system in June. SMC
Tiger's first professional event was the Greater Milwaukee Open. He finished 60th. Then he went on to win his next 2 events, qualify for the Tour Championship, and was named SI 1996 Sportsman of the Year and PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. He then won The Masters the following year.
