Of all the bats the Yankees could have picked up....

Lance Berkman was the guy they get? What the F was Cashman thinking. Berkman was good 4 years and 40lbs ago.

"Of all the bats"... who are these great bats that were available? Who would of cost as little as Berkman did. Adam Dunn would of been nice, but that would of cost a ton.

What the hell was Cash thinking when they signed Mr. Accident Waiting To Happen Johnson as well.

He was wrong on Nick Johnson and Randy Winn, but right on Marcus Thames.

Jury is still very much out on Lance Berkmann, and Austin Kearns has been a good pick up, he's helped us win ballgames.

Kearns has an excellent pedigree...He should be a nice pick up and has been in his short time so far. Thames was also an excellent find.

Berkman was dealing from a strength for a weakness. They really needed a veteran bat off the bench. They gave up a future possibly power reliever. Melancon is a high upside guy sure, but they have quite a few guys who can possibly pitch in a big league pen. He's one of the worst strike throwers out of the system is another way to look at it...David Robertson's a more polished version of a fastball/curveball reliever.
