JetNation
Round seven pick rookie wide receiver Jordan White has swelling in his knee and may not play in the upcoming preseason game (9/18) against the Giants. Rookie Jordan White developed knee swelling and might not play Saturday night against the Giants. White led college football Division 1-A in receptions and yards during his final season at Western Michigan and was also an accomplished punt returner. The Jets, dealing with many injured receivers, were hoping that White would emerge after missing most of the offseason with a foot injury. “I was feeling good about him (White) and then his knee swells up,” Rex Ryan said Thursday in his final Cortland news conference. Playing six years at Western Michigan, redshirting as a freshman and earning another year of eligibility due to medical hardship, White injured the ACL in both knees during his time in college. GREENBEAN
Do we have a receiver that ISN'T hurt? Right? This is gettinf absolutely ridiculous. How the hell is Sanchez supposed to get comfortable with these guys when they haven't off of the friggin stationary bikes all camp ? I hope the Jets are looking hard at the potential options that are still out there. It doesn't look like Schillens is going to ever get healthy enough in time to be able to take the chance on him. #27TheDominator
Normally for a late pick WR getting hurt isn't so bad. IR him and let him get used to the speed of the NFL, but this guy is O-L-D for a rook, was supposed to be a fairly polished option and has a rep for being made of glass. Still, not too big of a deal for the team, but very bad for his chances.
