Potential mid-season Additions (FA, trade, etc)

According to Cimini on twitter, the Jets brought in free agent David Nelson today.

Interesting move considering our current depth doesn't exactly beg for immediate roster shifting.  We are just coming off of the most productive day from our WR corp in decades, and Nelson has been out of football for about a year.  At 6'5, 215 he does present a nice red-zone option, and has plenty of experience in the division; he recently worked out for NE, and spent the last three years playing (in come capacity) for Buffalo.

Other rumors have been swirling around the movement of Kenny Britt out of Tennessee.  The latest is that given his latest benching and lack-luster performance he could be had for a late day-3 pick.  Probably wouldn't get traded to the Jets before this Sunday's showdown, but something to keep tabs on.

I like Josh Gordon out of Cleveland.  He is the consummate high risk/ high reward player; Legit pro-bowl talent one strike away from a year long vacation.  The Browns picked him up for an-unheard-of 2nd round supplemental pick, so they may be seeking appropriate compensation.   However, his red flags in college, have been his red flags in the league...just how much is a player of his caliber worth, being so close to a 1-year suspension?

Robert Turbin was relegated (strictly) to 3rd-down duties in Seattle this last weekend.  Not surprising as that has been his role for the last year playing behind Marshawn Lynch.  What is surprising, is that when Lynch was pulled, rookie Michael Christine got the nod as his direct back-up.  I remember the Jets were high on him coming out but the Tebow trade took higher priority.

This. No way they move him for a DAY 3 pick.

Maybe, Maybe Not.  Rumor has it Jake Locker asked (specifically) for him to be benched in favor of Justin Hunter.  The very next play Hunter caught his 34 yard game winning TD pass.

When your QB doesn't want you, and you have a log-jam at the position, and you're a turd coming off a year away from the game....maybe the team takes what they can get, when they can get it.

Man, I hope you are right. That would be a steal.
