Jets are already 2 point underdogs in their home opener against the Bengals.

They won't be favorites to win a game until week 8 versus the Browns.

point spreads without knowing who will be under center have about the same value as your posts.  Utterly useless.

ya, and a lot has to do if we win opener, get a little confidence, and go 5-4, maybe miracle 6-3.. can go other way sadly also though

Personally, I think the opener is huge for the Jets.

Lose that game and the Jets could be heading into Cleveland at 0-7.

The Jets will not beat the Ravens, Steelers, Bills or the Dolphins twice.

5-7 wins tops this year.

Why not? Why can't the Jets beat the Ravens (who won 5 games last year), Dolphins twice (they did so last year), Bills once or Steelers?

Next to the Pats last year, the Ravens had the most man-games lost by starters to injury. They are not a 5 win team. They will easily beat the Jets, just like they always do.

Jets haven't beat the Bills in 2 friggn' years. The Bills improved over the off-season, the Jets did not.

Beating the Steelers? Come on.

we have a good D, that will keep us in almost any game. to say we will be 0-7 is silly.

we beat the Steelers w/ Michael Vick when we were 4-12 two years ago, why can't we beat them now?

The Jets have the absolute worst starting QB situation in the entire NFL.

They can either start a 12-year journeyman QB with the weakest arm in the league or start the 42nd ranked QB in his last two seasons that he started.

Or they can start Petty who could dazzle the league based on what he learned by playing Madden.

When have the Jets ever beat the Ravens?    The Ravens had a lot of injuries last year, and I think they bounce back this year.( that offenseline matches up,well to the Jets defense line).

Totally different team now.  The steelers offense can cause trouble for any defense.( have a lot of  fast weapons ) .  Their defense isn't very good.    To beat the Steelers you have to win a shootout. Can the Jets offense consistently match the Steelers offense.  The Steelers are the home team versus the Jets. ( that's a big difference)

Yea you're right we can't beat these teams. Best we can do is split with the Pats like we did the last few years. ?

The Jets are 3-7 versus the Pats in the last 10 games played.

Jets still give the Pats fits. If there are 2 teams the Pats would rather not play in a playoff situation, it's the Jets and Giants.

Wouldn't that be something . I can't even see this guy making the team .

if healthy he will,,he was one of stars of chan and camp last year before his injury that happened in camp,,if fitz comes back, he is a great safety valve when all checkdowns covered

Wasn't he on the 3rd team depth chart before going on IR ?

Lol, what? He was in the doghouse running with the reserves in camp. People were wondering if he kicked Bowles' dog or something, it was so bad.

I don't believe that, a) I expect Fitz back and b)if he's not we did win 8 games w/ geno w/ much less talent around him.

0-7 is silly.  I don't care who we play it's hard to go 0-7.

New York Jets RUMORS: Jace Amaro On The Hot Seat?

Second year tight end Jace Amaro is reportedly on the hot seat with the New York Jets.

When the New York Jets released their first depth chart this offseason there was one very big surprise on it and that came at the tight end position. Second year tight end Jace Amaro was listed as the third string tight end behind both Jeff Cumberland and Kellen Davis. It is now being reported that Amaro might be on the hot seat with the organization and his roster spot is not guaranteed, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.

Amaro being behind Cumberland on the depth chart is understandable but the fact that he was initially behind Davis doesn't appear to be a great sign for him. Amaro is currently dealing with a sprained shoulder and may miss the entire preseason so he likely won't be able to practice and prove to the coaching staff that he deserves a spot and some playing time.

The Jets had high hopes for Amaro who they drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Texas Tech. The Jets now have a new regime in place and Amaro is a holdover from the old regime. The organization reportedly has mixed feelings about Amaro and because of this his place on the team is not guaranteed at all.

The report says that the Jets aren't necessarily likely to cut Amaro but it is worth watching. The fact that he is so low on the depth chart speaks to how the Jets new regime must feel about the 23 year old tight end. If the Jets were to get rid of Amaro it would be extremely early to give up on a second round pick who many people think has some very high upside.

As a rookie Amaro had a very moderate impact for the Jets playing in 14 games and catching 38 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns. Amaro is a 6 foot-5 tight end who is more in the mold of someone like Jimmy Graham as a new age tight end that splits out wide as a receiver.

My three Jet predictions.:

1. Bruce Carter will have a bigger impact than Darron Lee on their defense in 2016.   Eventually Darron Lee is  going to be a very good player for the Jets , but it won't be this year.( takes a lot more to play coverage than just running fast).   Going to need at least a year , before the Jets see the results with him .  Bruce Carter has done it for years already on the NFL level.( experience versus inexperience)

2. Deion Barnes will have more sacks than any Jet Olb including Mauldin.

3. Jets offense line will be a bigger reason ( than even the Qb),  why the Jet offense takes a big step back this year.    The Jets have some serious weapons on offense, but it still takes the offense line  giving the Qb time to find them weapons.  The Jets get an injury anywhere on the offense line, and things could snowball fast for the Jets offense.
