The Dolphins still may not get Ryan Tannehillback on the field this year, but the news on his MRI wasn’t as bad as they feared.

Per Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Dolphins coach Adam Gase told reporters that Tannehill’s ACL was not torn, and just sprained. Because he used all caps and exclamation marks, you know it’s seriously unexpected.

Now, it’s still unlikely he plays this week against the Jets, and he may not again this season. But Gase said it doesn’t look like Tannehill will need surgery to repair the sprained ACL and MCL. Last night, their fear was that it was a complete tear, and they still don’t have anything resembling a timetable.

But at least in terms of Tannehill’s health and his ability to be ready for the offseason program next year, it’s a huge dose of good news for a team making a playoff push. At least in the short term, it will be on backup quarterback Matt Moore to keep that hope alive.

– Monday was a good day for injury news for the Miami Dolphins.

On the same day quarterback Ryan Tannehill was diagnosed with an ACL and MCL sprain, not a tear, middle linebacker and leading tackler Kiko Alonso said he expects to return Sunday against the New York Jets. Alonso missed Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals with thumb and hamstring injuries.

“In my mind, I think I’m going to play,” Alonso said Monday.

Dolphins coach Adam Gase also had some optimism for Alonso.

“We’re going to have to go through all the right steps, especially on this short week,” Gase said. “We really pulled back last week and tried to let that hamstring calm down. But I do think we have a better chance this week than we did last week.”

Backup middle linebacker Mike Hull played well against Arizona in place of Alonso. Hull was tied for the team lead with eight tackles and also had an interception on the first drive that set up Miami’s initial touchdown. He will start again next week if Alonso cannot play.

In other injury news Dolphins Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey (hip) will not play this week, Gase said. Sunday’s game will be the fifth game in a row – and ninth total – that Pouncey will miss.

Not even the Miami Dolphins were sure what they would get from inexperienced middle linebacker Mike Hull on Sunday. The second-year player made his first career start with Miami in place of the injured Kiko Alonso and faced a tall task of leading the defense and slowing Arizona Cardinals star running back David Johnson. But Hull aced his first test as a starter. He tied for the team lead with eight tackles and had an important interception of Arizona quarterback Carson Palmer on the opening drive that set up Miami's first touchdown in a 26-23 victory. Hull was constantly around the football and showed good instincts for a young player.

Hull's performance provided confidence that he can replace Alonso for a longer stretch while Miami's leading tackler recovers from thumb and hamstring injuries."I don’t think I was nervous at all," Hull said after the game. "Obviously, there were some things with communication that needed to be cleaned up, especially down the stretch. But we’ll get that cleaned up and just very fortunate that we were able to pull out the game with the win.”

It remains to be seen if Hull will start again next week in a big game against the New York Jets, but he will be ready. Alonso's biggest issue is his hamstring because speed and explosion are a vital part of his game. The Dolphins (8-5) trail the Denver Broncos (8-5) in tiebreakers for the final wild-card spot in the AFC and need all hands on deck. Backups such as Hull, linebacker Spencer Paysinger (eight tackles) and quarterback Matt Moore all played important roles Sunday due to injuries.

"We had more than just Kiko out," Dolphins coach Adam Gase said. "Guys stepped up again and found a way to do the job they needed to do today to get us a chance at the end. We talk about it all the time. All of these games, especially this part of the season, it’s going to come down to. ... whoever has the ball last, usually that’s what it’s going to come down to."

The Miami Dolphins could start Matt Moore against the Jets. It has happened before

The last time Matt Moore started a game for the Miami Dolphins was on New Year’s Day 2012 in a victory over the New York Jets.

Here we go again.

Moore will likely get his first start for the Dolphins since the final game of the 2011 season when Miami visits the Meadowlands on Saturday night after Ryan Tannehill suffered a left knee injury Sunday. On Monday, coach Adam Gase said the injury to Tannehill isn’t as severe as first thought – it’s a MCL/ACL sprain, not a tear – yet there is no word on when No. 17 will be back.

So, while the Dolphins haven’t seen much of Moore in some time, what can they expect from Moore?

In 2011, Moore took over for Chad Henne as Miami’s starting quarterback when Henne was injured in a Week 4 loss to the Chargers. With the Dolphins starting that season 0-7, many fans openly rooted against their team in a so-called ‘Suck for Luck’ – as in, lose for the top overall draft pick and Stanford star quarterback Andrew Luck.

Read more here: http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article120425423.html#storylink=cpyWell, Moore – who came to Miami after four seasons with Carolina before the 2011 season – ended up passing for 2,497 yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions as Miami won six of its final nine in a season in which Tony Sparano was fired following a loss to the Eagles with three games left.

Luck went first to the 2-14 Colts, as Miami and new coach Joe Philbin drafted Tannehill with the eighth overall pick.

Moore, 32, said he has had opportunities to move on from the Dolphins since, but has signed on to remain Tannehill’s backup despite playing sparingly over the past five years because Tannehill has been so reliable.

Since Tannehill arrived in Miami, Moore has completed just eight of 16 passes for 266 yards in seven games over the past five seasons – including Sunday. If Tannehill misses Saturday’s game in New Jersey, it will be the first time he does so since coming to the Dolphins from Texas A&M in 2012 – a run of 77 consecutive starts coming to an end.

“Whatever we’ve got to do to win,” Miami offensive lineman Jermon Bushrod told reporters following Sunday’s game.“I mean that’s the situation, if it has to go there, then that’s the situation that we have to deal with. Matt’s been in this league for nine or 10 years, I believe. He’s played in a lot of games. He’s started a lot of games so if things go that way, go in that direction, then we have to rally behind our guy. That’s all we can do.”

Moore had a busy Monday as NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported his wife was being induced with the couples’ third child.

On Sunday, Moore came in and was 3-of-5 for 47 yards in Miami’s 26-23 victory over Arizona which was won on a last-second field goal from Andrew Franks.

“My focus right now is get ready to go,” Moore said Sunday.

“If I have to go, then be ready to go, and that’s it. You talk about where we’re at as a team, you can’t ask for much more. The ball is in our court. We just have to execute and play one week at a time.”

As for Saturday’s game, Moore is 1-1 against the Jets while with the Dolphins as his first — and perhaps until Saturday — his final starts for Miami came against New York.On Oct. 17, 2011, Moore made his first start for the Dolphins in New Jersey and passed for 204 yards with two interceptions in a 24-6 loss as Miami dropped to 0-5.

In the 2011 season finale in Miami Gardens, Moore threw a fourth quarter touchdown pass to Charles Clay as the Dolphins beat Mark Sanchez and the Jets 19-17 to finish 6-10.“You’ve got to go next man up just like every other position,” Gace said on Sunday.

“That’s why we signed Matt back this offseason. It was one of those things where he looking, we were kind of looking, and at the end of the day – when we had our meeting – we felt like it was the right fit for both of us.

“I just know that I’m glad he’s here.”

More night sweats for Jets? They face contending Dolphins in prime time

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The New York Jets are back in prime time.

Uh, oh.

They face the Miami Dolphins (8-5) on Saturday at MetLife Stadium, where only nine days ago they got embarrassed by the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night, 41-10. Earlier in the season, they traveled west and were routed by the Arizona Cardinals, 28-3, in a Monday night game.

Combined damage in the two losses: 69-13.

The Jets (4-9) blew a fourth-quarter lead and lost their previous meeting against the Dolphins, 27-23, surrendering a 96-yard kickoff return to Kenyan Drake with 5:15 to play. It was one of the low points in the Jets' season. They've had a bunch of them.

Here are six players to watch, courtesy of ESPN Dolphins reporter James Walker.

OFFENSE

QB Matt Moore: With Ryan Tannehill (knee) injured, Moore will get the nod in a big spot. Moore enters Saturday's game a bit of a mystery. He hasn't started a game since 2011. But the Dolphins are confident in Moore's track record. He's 13-12 in his career as a starter. So he's proven he can win games. The big question this week is: Can Moore shake the rust?

RB Jay Ajayi: Without Tannehill, Ajayi will be a key focal point on offense. He is just 44 rushing yards shy of his first 1,000-yard season. The secret is out on Ajayi. Since his back-to-back 200-yard games in October, Ajayi's numbers have steadily decreased as opponents have made stopping the tailback their biggest priority. Ajayi rushed for 111 yards in his prior meeting with the Jets.

WR Jarvis Landry: Speaking of milestones, Landry is another player nearing one. He needs 77 receiving yards to notch his second consecutive 1,000-yard season. Landry is as tough as they come and could draw the attention of Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis.

DEFENSE

CB Byron Maxwell: Remember him in the first meeting? Maxwell frustrated Jets receiver Brandon Marshall as the two have developed some sort of rivalry that dates back to last year. More than anything, Marshall has an issue with Maxwell. But the corner has played his best football in recent weeks. He leads Miami with 14 pass defenses and is tied for the team lead with two interceptions.

MLB Kiko Alonso: Miami's leading tackler missed last week's game against the Cardinals due to hamstring and thumb injuries. But Alonso and the team are more optimistic he returns this week. The Dolphins need Alonso's presence in the middle. He's their best cover linebacker and that would help against a dual-threat tailback in Matt Forte.

DT Ndamukong Suh: Miami's highest-paid player is performing at a Pro Bowl level this season. Despite constant double teams, Suh is fifth on the team with 57 tackles and third in sacks with five. He doesn't get single blocked often. But when Suh does, he consistently wins those matchup.

Dolphins Remain Hot and Are in the Thick of the Playoff Race

fins-art.jpg

Last Meeting
The Jets (4-9) and Dolphins (8-5) squared off in Week 9 in Hard Rock Stadium as Miami prevailed 27-23.

Heat Wave
The Dolphins have won six of their last seven with their most recent win coming against the Cardinals in Week 14. Miami emerged victorious 26-23 in dramatic fashion — K Andrew Franks converted on a 21-yard field goal as time expired, keeping Miami firmly in the playoff hunt.

Postseason Hopes
If the season ended today, the Dolphins would hold the No. 6 seed in the AFC. The Jets have an opportunity to play spoiler on Saturday.

Déjà Vu
In Miami’s recent win over the Cardinals, QB Ryan Tannehill suffered a sprained ACL/MCL and he will not play against the Jets.

Nine-year veteran QB Matt Moore’s first start with the Dolphins came against the Green & White in a primetime matchup at MetLife Stadium. Moore completed 16 of his 34 pass attempts for 204 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions in a 24-6 Jets’ win. CB Darrelle Revisicon-article-link.gif collected both of the thefts and he returned one for 100 yards and a score.

Moore passed for 2,497 yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 12 starts that 2011 campaign, finishing with a 6-6 record. The 6’3”, 225-pounder's last start also came against the Jets as he led the Dolphins to a 19-17 victory on New Year’s Day in South Florida.

So We Meet Again
In Week 9, Jay Ajayi was the hottest player in the NFL coming off back-to-back 200-yard rushing games. While he failed to make NFL history with three consecutive 200-plus performances, Ajayi was effective on the ground, rushing for 111 yards and one touchdown against the Jets. Since, he’s averaging 62 yards on 17 carries for an average of 3.6 yards.

Pouncing on Opportunities
The Dolphins will be without C Mike Pouncey (hip), who is one of the most versatile and athletic centers in the league. Following their last meeting, Jets DL Leonard Williamsicon-article-link.gif complimented Pouncey’s athleticism, saying it’s parallel to that of a defensive lineman. The Florida product is part of an offensive line that ranks No. 12 on the ground. Anthony Steen will most likely make his eighth start of the season serving as Pouncey's replacement.

Bend But Don’t Break
In the Dolphins’ past four victories, they’ve won by no more than seven points and have surrendered an average of 24 points and 375 yards per game.

MetLife Stadium will have a new look this weekend: Neutral end zones for the first time. In other words, there will be no "Jets" or "Giants" in the end zone. The reason is because of the quick turnaround. The Jets play at 8:25 p.m. Saturday against the Dolphins, the Giants kick off at 1 p.m. Sunday against the Lions. The tight schedule, coupled with the weather forecast, prompted the decision to go neutral. Each end zone will consist of nine vertical slash marks. It shouldn't affect the Jets; the end zone is a place they rarely see.

Dolphins' defense cannot overlook Jets QB Bryce Petty

play

DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins aren’t the only team with a major change recently at quarterback. The Jets also will have a new look on offense compared to their previous meeting with Miami. They are starting second-year quarterback Bryce Petty under center.

Miami (8-5) and New York (4-9) played just six weeks ago with Ryan Tannehilland Ryan Fitzpatrick under center, respectively. The Dolphins won that game, 27-23, but a lot has changed.

Fitzpatrick was benched because of poor performance, and the Jets opted to take a look at the future with Petty. The 2015 fourth-round draft pick won his first game as a starter last week against San Francisco."He’s got a strong arm," Dolphins defensive coordinator Vance Joseph said. "He’s athletic. He’s no stiff back there, so that’s a concern; but he’s got a strong arm and he’s aggressive. Most young guys playing, you know playing right now -- he’s got four games to play or whatever he has to play -- he should be aggressive. Show them want you can do, and he’s trying to do that."

The Dolphins own wins this season against top quarterbacks such as Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers and Carson Palmer. But they cannot afford to overlook the inexperienced Petty with so much at stake.Miami, which will start its own backup quarterback in Matt Moore, must win at least two of its final three to put itself in position to make the playoffs. This is a game the team absolutely cannot lose. The Dolphins will travel to play Buffalo (6-7) and play host to New England (11-2) in their final two games.

Similar to the Jets being forced to make adjustments from Tannehill to Moore, Miami’s defense must do the same from Fitzpatrick to Petty."We gotta figure out what this quarterback likes to do and what he wants to check into his different things," Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suhsaid. "I think the offense, in watching film the last couple days, have stayed pretty much the same. So we will see his flow and mechanisms of getting the offense rolling."

Expect some cat and mouse between these division rivals in terms of strategy. This is the second meeting in six weeks, and the teams are very familiar with each other. The Dolphins won the first meeting by running the ball, forcing turnovers, and getting a big kickoff return for a touchdown by rookie Kenyan Drake. But those things won’t be easy to duplicate Saturday on the road at MetLife Stadium.

"What you did well, they’re going to probably adjust to. So you’ve got to make adjustments," Joseph said, "You can’t go to the same game [with] the same game plan. Not playing professionals and professional coaches."

Petty (3rd Pro Start) vs. Moore (1st Start in 5 Seasons) in This Year's Rematch of Old AFC East Foes

AP_16311742597767-7points-top.jpg

The Jets are 4-9 and have suffered an emergency room full of injuries this season, and are playing after back-to-back short weeks for the first time since 1985.

But they're not dragging themselves to the '16 finish line. And why should they? They're energized from last week's come-from-behind win at San Francisco, they're back home at MetLife, they're the only NFL game in town on a perhaps snowy/rainy Saturday night, Bryce Pettyicon-article-link.gif is starting his third pro game.

And the opponents are the 8-5 Dolphins.

"Definitely, there will be nerves," said Petty, who overcame his early butterflies to direct the nifty comeback effort over the 49ers.

Rontez Milesicon-article-link.gif, making his third pro start at safety, for the IR'd Marcus Gilchristicon-article-link.gif, says there will be more than jitters."We want to win. We plan on going in there to win. Every game you want to win," Miles said. "It's all divisionals the last three, so it's going to be fun and it's going to be interesting."

Here are seven more points pertinent to the Jets' and Dolphins' version of Saturday night fever at MetLife :

1. 'Fins Again
The Jets ended the Dolphins' short win streak in North Jersey with last year's 38-20 verdict built on four Ryan Fitzpatrickicon-article-link.gif TD passes, two to Brandon Marshallicon-article-link.gif. The 'Fins returned the favor, ending the Green & White's South Florida streak with last month's 27-23 victory. The Green & White still lead the rivalry at home all-time, 28-22. That includes a 20-6 loss to the Dolphins at Shea Stadium on a Saturday night in 1970. But recently the Jets have felt right at home on Saturday night, winning their last three, all on the road — the '04 and '10 playoff games at San Diego and Indianapolis respectively and last year's 19-16 comeback at Dallas.

2. OK Corral?
Some are already throwing the "gunslinger" designation around for Petty. Matt Moore, starting for the injured Ryan Tannehill, has been given that label for a while. Jets HC Todd Bowles and DC Kacy Rodgers were on Miami's staff in 2012, and Rodgers said this week, "The thing about Matt is he's competitive and he's never seen a throw he didn't like." Moore's not offended whether it's his coaches or his former coaches calling him a gunslinger. "I think it's a compliment," he said.

3. Capping Moore's Production
Moore, who went 1-1 as a starter vs. the Jets in 2011 and got the save in long relief of then-rookie Tannehill at MetLife in '12, could be distracted as a new daddy this week, not to mention rusty with no starts and 19 passes the past five years. The Jets pass defense would like to treat him the way they treated Colin Kaepernick over the last 50 minutes of Sunday's game, when the 49ers QB was held to 8-for-19 passing, 21 net yards, no completion over 9 yards, and a 49.7 rating.

4. Protecting Petty
Bryce vows to be ready for the Miami pass rush after getting sacked six times by the Niners. That could be easier said than done with the Jets' fluid RT situation vs. LDE Cameron Wake, 10th in the NFL with 9.5 sacks. Breno Giacominiicon-article-link.gif is on IR, Brent Qvaleicon-article-link.gif has a sore hamstring, and rookie Brandon Shellicon-article-link.gif has only 10 offensive plays all season. However, more than half of those Shell snaps came in the OT at SF and he looked the part. Regardless, Bowles says, "You can't be scared. ... If he has to play, we have all our guys ready to play."

5. Going to Ground
Because of their QB situations, both teams figure to try to win the ground war. For the Jets, Bilal Powellicon-article-link.gif, off his monster Niners game, is ready to replace or augment the injured Matt Fortéicon-article-link.gif against a Miami run defense that is 30th in yards/game and 31st in yards/carry and with some banged-up 'backers in Kiko Alonso and Jelani Jenkins. The Jets run defense, meanwhile, was No. 1 in the NFL allowing 74.0 yards/game going into their November meeting with Jay Ajayi and the Dolphins. Even though they held Ajayi well under 200, that game began a stretch of six weeks in which they've slumped to 30th in the league yielding 148.0 yards/game.

6. Return Turnabout?
The Jets had easily their best field position game in a month at San Fran. Now they need to do it again vs. Miami, which ruined their comeback effort at Hard Rock Stadium last month on rookie Kenyan Drake's 96-yard kickoff-return TD. That's affected the Green & White's KO coverage, which is 30th in the NFL in yards/return allowed. "I'm a prideful guy — it sure as hell hurts," ST coordinator Brant Boyer said of that return, the video of which he showed to his troops twice this week to get them ready to protect their home turf in the rematch.

7. Streaks That Must End
The Jets are still the NFL's 32nd-ranked team in terms of points scored in the last two minutes of halves, but they took a step toward correcting that with Nick Folkicon-article-link.gif's clutch 50-yard field goal in the last minute of regulation at SF. Here are some more streaks they want to end: Five games (176 passes) without an interception, five games with a minus turnover margin, 48 games without a defensive or special teams return TD. No better time for some early holiday treats than under the lights with one of your favorite foes in the AFC East.

I saw spirit on this team we haven't seen in a long time. I think that Petty is more confident and the team is more confident with him. I predict two picks by Petty because he will try more things and get the ball off quicker (hopefully he isn't overconfident) but more points on the board. 2 Td passes and a few others on the ground. We win 24-17.

Hyde5: Here's how the Dolphins beat the Jets

It's simple for the Dolphins: Win two, have Denver lose two and they're in the playoffs. Or maybe it's not so simple. We'll see starting Saturday night against a Jets team with little to play for except spoiling a season like the Dolphins.

Here in the weekly How The Dolphins Win This Week series is how they can take down the Jets :

1. Attack Bryce Petty. All the talk in South Florida is Matt Moore taking over for Ryan Tannehill. But Moore should be better than Petty, who will effectively play his fourth NFL game. He has a 65.6 rating (70.2 against a good Rams defense; 41.3 against a bad Colts defense; and 75.5 against a bad 49ers defense). He has thrown two touchdowns against four interceptions. Now that there’s video on what he does, too, there’s little mystery to him. Yes, Moore is an X factor in the game. But Petty isn’t. This pass rush should fluster him and Vance Joseph's defense lead him into mistakes.

2. Run Jay Ajayi. San Francisco’s Carlos Hyde ran 17 times for 193 yards last week against what has been a good Jets rushing defense. The 49ers had 248 yards overall. So either that was the proverbial off game or the Jets are cracking even at their strengths. We’ll see. They still rank 12th overall in run defense (4.0 yards an attempt). But considering the run game is strength and the Dolphins will be looking for ways to take some pressure off Matt Moore, Ajayi should be a priority. He was upset after carrying 20 times for 48 yards against Arizona last week. In good part, that was because the Dolphins couldn't block 6-8 Calais Campbell. Now the challenge for the line is blocking another great tackle in Leonard Williams.

3. Matt Moore must protect the ball. The Jets are a good defense for Moore to face in some ways. They rank 12th in rushing defense because of a good line. But they rank 28th in opponent quarterback ratings allowed (97.7), 28th in sacks (22) and 30th in interceptions (six). All that looks good, because if there’s one worry it’s that Moore has a tendency in his career to give up the ball. There’s not much to go by of late, of course. He’s thrown just 16 passes in the past four seasons – five last week against Arizona. In 2011, he played in 13 games – and had nine interceptions and nine fumbles. In the limited seven games, he has two interceptions and a fumble. This is a game to take care of the ball.

4. Don’t underestimate the Jets. There’s no reason for the Dolphins to do this considering they beat the Jets last time on Kenyan Drake’s final-minutes kickoff return and the stakes of this game. The Jets also did come back to beat San Francisco last week on the road. So they’re not dead. You only have to think back to 2013 to when the Jets crushed the Dolphins playoff chances in the finale to realize what can happen. The Dolphins aren’t good enough underestimate anyone. They seem to know that. Just a reminder here.

5. Let the Jets beat themselves. They’re a second-worst minus-16 on turnovers (Dolphins are a plus-2). They’re the 24th-most penalized team. They’re playing before what should be a very apathetic crowd (the Dolphins fans’ annual takeover should be especially noticeable for this game). In other words, let the Jets be a team playing out the string.

Projecting the Jets' inactives for tonight: CB Buster Skrine, DT Steve McLendon, LB Mike Catapano, LB Lorenzo Mauldin, RB Khiry Robinson, RT Brent Qvale and QB Christian Hackenberg. All but Hackenberg are injured. Hackenberg could dress as the No. 3 QB if RB Matt Forte (knee/questionable) is declared inactive. They'd have no other healthy bodies to take the 46th spot. Or what they could do is dress Qvale (hamstring), but use him only in an emergency. They have only two healthy tackles, Ben Ijalana and Brandon Shell.

Bold predictions: Bryce Petty leads Jets to victory

Print

Week 15 of the NFL season is upon us, and that means it's time for another round of bold predictions. As always, this week's edition of fearless prognostications includes a macho helping of audaciousness and abandon as we head into Sunday and Monday's contests. Warning: These predictions are not for the faint of heart.

Bryce Petty wins again or Rosenthal pens tell-all novella

The last time we saw the Jets in prime time, Gang Green all but quit in a lopsided loss to the Colts. Two weeks later, rookie quarterback Bryce Petty will win over New York's cranky tabloids with a dazzling performance against the Dolphins on Saturday night. Instead of flatlining in a big spot, Petty will dent Miami's postseason hopes with a 300-yard, three-touchdown evening that makes a star out of rookie wideout Robby Anderson, who will use his 4.36 speed to pile up two scores and 150-plus yards through the air.

If this doesn't happen, NFL Network's Gregg Rosenthal will take a leave of absence during the playoffs to author the first five chapters of an autobiography titled "Portrait of the Football Blogger as a Young Man." The 50-page "sneak peek" will shed light on Rosenthal's early obsession with local politics by chronicling his head-turning run for First Selectman of Martha's Vineyard at age 21. Rosenthal's failed bid for office will be skillfully tempered in the book by a string of delightful anecdotes describing his part-time job as a tennis instructor at the Edgartown School For Girls.

"I lived a formulaic existence in many ways. One day drifted into the next," Rosenthal would write. "I thought a run for office would change my outlook on life, but it only sunk me deeper into a hazy state of mind that left me asking: 'Who am I? Why am I here? Do my daily actions and choices truly mean anything?' All of that changed when I became a tennis instructor at the School For Girls. Little did I know how my perspective on our society would shift as I helped these young athletes grow into devastating tennis players. We all have something special within us."

Interesting note from ESPN Stats and Info: Since entering the NFL in 2007, Dolphins backup QB Matt Moore (pictured) averages 9.7 air yards per attempt, which is second most among those with at least 500 throws. Moore isn't afraid to go deep.
