KRL
@sec101row23 What's your breakdown of SImmons? Looking at his tape and frame do you think he can put on another 5-10 pounds and be an edge rusher in the pros? If Douglas takes care of the OLine in free agency would you consider him at #11? He's intriguing

He's intriguing Edge rusher? No. He’s more of a LB/Safety hybrid. You can move him all over the place though. Brent Venables has done a great job of mixing up where he lines up and what he is doing. He’s lined up at OLB, ILB, Safety and even slot. As much as I love him, I’d never consider him at 11 though. I’d take Tee Higgins over him every day of the week.

He's intriguing OT question for you @KRL. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but why do your posts have the weirdest formatting? It's befuddled me over the years and I've never seen another posters replies in the same format. Call it my January observations.

Your posts come out compressed and automatically skip to the next line when they shouldn't. It's definitely not just a JN thing as I have noticed this forever and can't be the only one. maury77
As good as Simmons may be, his scouting report sounds like Jamal Adams and we already have him.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Simmons is more athletic than Adams and is more of a LBer than safety. But I agree he is simply not a need for the Jets and should receive zero consideration at pick 11. 1
KRL
Granted at this point Simmons appears to be a Jamal Adams type of player. But since he's only 20 and already 6-4 230 I don't see him staying at safety. I think he's naturally going to beef up to 240-250 pounds and be a OLB pass rusher. In my opinion a creative defensive coach is going to strike gold with him as he matures

You can be creative in blitz packages, but he’s not an edge setter, nor has he played with his hand in the dirt.

sec101row23
Watching this Buffalo playoff game, Tremaine Edmunds is a great comp for what Simmons will be in the NFL, only Simmons will be better in coverage.
