When a franchise has talent, invested ownership,no drama, title opportunity & FQB players gravitate. Ravens, Saints, Pats & Denver/Oakland back in the day. Johnson’s have no inter-personal skills and bad businessmen. And somehow KC went from 1970 until last season, with the same family running the org being less successful than the than the Jets. Funny how a winning team can change everything

Not saying Baker can't be good, and KC is a solid landing spot for him. And a former 1st rounder is always worth a shot this early in his career. joewilly12
Chiefs’ Andy Reid explains signing ex-Giants CB DeAndre Baker to practice squad Updated 8:30 AM; Today 8:28 AM Former New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker is headed to the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad.AP By Mike Rosenstein | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com Big Red is taking a small risk. The Kansas City Chiefs are signing DeAndre Baker to thepractice squad this week after the former New York Giants cornerback had all charges against him dropped in connection with an alleged armed robbery in Florida. On Wednesday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid explained why the team is taking a chance on Baker. Per the Kansas City Star: “He was a good player in college, did a nice job at Georgia. He and Mecole Hardman are good buddies. Really, (general manager) Brett’s (Veach) been doing everything to this point and will continue to do it. So, full trust in him in whatever he wants to do with it, we go. … Other than that, I don’t know much about him other than he was a good player in college.” Baker, a first-round draft pick in 2019 (30th overall), played in 16 games for the Giants before his release this summer. It’s worth remembering that the NFL could still place Baker on the commissioner’s exempt list and/or suspend him. The league hasn’t yet concluded its personal conduct policy investigation into Baker’s alleged behavior. And the NFL does not need to base a decision — suspension or no suspension — on the outcome of a legal situation, like when charges are dropped. As for Reid, it sounds like he’s setting the bar low for Baker. “I know when he gets here, he’ll see the environment that we have and he’s going to be asked to work hard and keep his nose clean,” Reid said. “That’s what you do and we’re very honest with that and open. So, when Brett deals with that, he keeps that real with these guys whoever we’re bringing in, but anything else isn’t acceptable. That’s how we go.”
