The Dead Zone Is Dead!

Recommended Posts

We’ve waited a long time for this.  We’ve witnessed change after change over the last six months; from coaches to players to ownership.  And we want to know if the changes will actually change anything.  Is there light at the end of the tunnel or is it a train coming right at us?  We’ll soon find out!

  • More than anything else, I’ll be watching the offensive line over the next few weeks.  If the OL transcends into the unit Douglas envisioned by dedicating so many resources towards it, the season will be different.  The new QB will have a chance to succeed.  The running game may flourish which could open up the passing game.  Can the other four guys cover up the lack of talent at RG?  Will V. Rotten and Alex Lewis derail an otherwise promising group?  That’s a big fat ‘we’ll see’.  And there’s a lot riding on it!
  • On defense, there are so many question marks we just don’t know what to expect.  While so many are relying on Saleh’s magic wand, the reality is he and Douglas are taking a huge gamble on so many youngsters.  CB and LB are total crap shoots.  Mosley has looked good so far but let’s face it, he’s been out so long we don’t know what to expect from him.  Davis is a different kind of crapshoot.  He’s been out of position while playing for lBelichick’s mini-me (well, not so little) and he’s the best we got.  After that, we have a guy who can’t stay on the field and two guys who are changing positions in their first year of NFL action.

It’s an exciting time to be a Jets fan.  But let’s face it, so was 2020, 2019, 2018, et al.
