Changes to Personnel Departments

Recommended Posts

Might not affect Jets but Philly is going to have a lot of personnel positions to fill.

The Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly fired director of scouting operations Casey Weidl according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

It is not unusual for teams to make changes to their personnel departments after the NFL draft is over.  Weidl is the brother of vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl and McLane reports his future is uncertain.  Andy Weidl interviewed with the Steelers for their General Manager position and the team is expected to hire someone now that Kevin Colbert is set to retire after running their draft.

Player personnel executive T.J. McCreight, southwest area scout Shawn Heinlen and scouting assistant Evan Pritt are also reportedly out for the Eagles.

The Eagles have also seen co-directors of player personnel Brandon Brown and Ian Cunningham become assistant General Managers with the Giants and Bears, respectively, this offseason. Vice president of football operations Catherine Raiche is expected to leave for a job with the Browns, so there are going to be a lot of changes to General Manager Howie Roseman’s staff ahead of next season.

FFS don't hire them. How many omfg players have the Eagles drafted in the last several years?

Their last objectively great player was a RT that cost them the #4 overall pick, way back in 2013. That's a lot of picks since then.

Next-best is probably DeVonta Smith last year, but he had a high-end rookie WR season more than a high-end season compared to all other WRs (he's not exactly been Justin Jefferson or Ja'Marr Chase). FWIW, Jordan Matthews had an eerily similar start for the Eagles, at least statistically.

The bigger concern is if they come after any of the Jets front office/scouts

If it happens it happens. Can’t stop or blame guys from accepting promotions, should they get offered. Doubt they’d move absent that: the Jets offices do look really nice, in a nice, laid-back area for the metro area, and Douglas has plenty good job security so that’d extend to his guys, too.

Source confirms that #Jets area scout Alonzo Dotson is taking a position with the #Bills, as ⁦‪@TomPelissero‬⁩ said. Dotson, who will be their national scout, spent 4 years with the Jets, the last 3 as their Southeast scout.

I believe Dotson was the scout on the JJohnson pick

Cool story
here is another:
can’t get a plastic or paper bag now in NJ at a grocery store.

Funniest thing is when they talked about the bag ban here in the city, the news report would always have that one bag stuck in a tree somewhere
