southparkcpa Posted July 1, 2023 Share Posted July 1, 2023 So my youngest daughter, is getting married in DC in October.... I need a terrific Father daughter dance. I'm a former music major (String bass) so she put the burden on me to pick the song. They grew up with me playing piano and guitar in the house. My eldest, we danced to a live guitar player who wrote a terrific song and it was great. Now I'm at a loss. Any of you sentimental obnoxious Jets fans have a song I can consider? She's a Chapel Hill grad, has made me super proud and I don't want a rank and file tune like My girl etc. Lot's of terrific music minds on this sight. I'm drawing blanks. It's called "My Light" by Sully Erna, who is the lead singer of Godsmack. It's on his first solo album, Avalon, which is mostly acoustic with a female singer. This is a song that always spoke to me about how I feel about my daughter and she felt the same say. Sully Erna wrote it for his daughter so it's definitely fitting. It's not a song that is common for the father daughter dance but it was perfect for my daughter and I. Stumbled on it VERY similar to the type of song i danced with my 1st daughter. Yeah I figured it was a long shot. "Just Fishin'" is a other song I really like and speaks to me when it comes to my daughter.Whatever you pick I'm sure it will be amazing.
