GimmeShelter
What a finish.....great game. Team never quits. A loss would have put them in a 4 game slide.

T-Mac
Yeah, these guys do give a little effort out there. Willie killed me yesterday sticking w/ Ishii long after he hit the wall.

Willie's in a tough spot with these pitchers because of Rick Peterson. ANY of them are as likely to come out and give up 7 runs in the first inning as they are to throw a no-hitter, so Willie has no idea what he's going to get from any of them. It's all in Rick's hands. faba
You have Martinez and Benson and then the rest of the rotation- you do not know what to expect from game to game. One constant with guys like Zambrano and Ishii though is probable danger time when you get to sixth inning or longer with all the pitches they usually have to throw- easy for them to lose it even if they are having an A game
GimmeShelter
Hopefully another positive will be Graves. Mets players told him upon his signing that he has been tipping his pitches. If he gets straightened out he is a solid reliever.

If he gets straightened out he is a solid reliever. What I like about Graves is that he's a tough guy, too. IMO, the Mets have been lacking some of that nastiness that contending teams need down the stretch. Graves is the kind of guy that when you need a guy drilled, he'll drill them AND their mother. 124
That inside the park home run was a thing of beauty.
