MTJ06
Travis Daniels Working at FS; Other Secondary Moves -- Thu Sep 20, 2007 --from FFMastermind.com The Miami Dolphins' official website reports Dolphins CB Travis Daniels has been lining up at free safety all week in practice after starting at cornerback in the first two games. With SS Yeremiah Bell out for the season with a torn left Achilles' tendon and Darius questionable, as well as CB Andre Goodman now cleared to play with his left shoulder better healed from two offseason surgeries, the move was made apparently to shake up a secondary that has been suspect in the two losses. According to Daniels, CB Michael Lehan has taken over his spot at right corner, with CB Will Allen still at the left corner, and FS Renaldo Hill has moved into the strong safety previously occupied by Bell. HC Dom Capers said there could be a number of different combinations back there, including some formations where Daniels moves back to cornerback. "We worked Travis (at safety) through training camp and Travis is one of our better ball skill guys," Capers said. "He's a bright guy and he's a guy who can handle more than one thing, so what we'll be looking at as far as the secondary goes is the more things people can do the more flexibility it gives you. Michael Lehan plays two or three different spots as well as CB Will Allen, so that's the advantage of having guys with you that understand the system and have some experience and some football instincts." Daniels played safety in college at LSU when former Dolphins HC Nick Saban was his head coach so the position is not entirely new to him. He was beaten for two long passes by Washington WR Antwaan Randle-El in the season opener from his corner position and by WR Terrell Owens for a 34-yard touchdown in the Cowboys loss. http://www.ffmastermind.com/quickbits.php Potential for a busted coverage? Thor99
Jerk. A personal attack against a mod? Lucky for you this behavior is not only condoned, it's encouraged.
Kentucky Jet
because it does not take into consideration the pass rush capabilities of the Dolphins. A pass rush is a secondaries best friend. Jason Taylor ate BRICK's lunch last year. Lets hope if CHAD plays that he has some mobility so he can escape Taylor's rush. Or maybe BRICK will step up. 124
Taylor had one sack in each meeting. Seeing as Taylor is supposed to be a Top 3 / 5 DE I'd say that's a fairly good job by a rookie. As for a blown coverage opp. Sure. Last year Chad hit Coles wide open about20,25 yards down the field and LC ran another 35 for a score. Would love to see something like that happen again obviously. With Cotchery a little nicked up, even though he's playing, LC may get more and more balls thrown to him. Just, please Chad, do not throw to McCareins. faba
The weakest part of the Dolphins defense is the secondary-that is the way to attack them. pass first to set up the running game.
