Wow, no replies, I am SHOCKED!

You are aware that I don't live on JetNation, aren't you? Jesus, give me 10 minutes. I do have other things I do when I'm online. I can't even look at porno without EB calling me out!

.228 with RISP. .212 with RISP with 2 outs. I could really give a sh*t less what Jeter did the last three years. All I know is that he has been the final out three times in the past month against sh*tty teams when he had a chance to tie to game.

LMAO, too funny. You think Jeter is not clutch because of 2 stats during just 1/3 of the 2005 season while you're discounting all his other RISP stats the past 3 years and his whole career? That just shows how desperate you guys are to knock Jeter down.

Heres some numbers from this season

http://baseball.espn.go.com/mlbhist/players/splits?statsId=5406&type=batting&year=2005

Runners on base: .313 BA

Man on 1st base: .429 BA

Man on 3rd base: .750 BA

Men on 2nd and 3rd Base: 400 BA

Men on, 2 outs: .283 BA

Man on 3rd, less than 2 outs: .500 BA

Close and Late: .294 BA

In his entire post-season career, a total of 99 games spread over eight seasons, Derek Jeter is a .210 hitter with runners in scoring position and a .245 hitter with men on base.

Take that and add in the fact that, over the last four post-seasons, he is a .176 hitter in "close and late" situations, and I think it is safe to say that hearing Jeter constantly being hailed as "Mr. Clutch" is completely unjustified.

"Mr. Clutch" is completely unjustified.

If for no other reason...the toss play to get the talented Giambi out at home makes this guy clutch.

That was one of the greatest plays I have ever seen. That doesn't show up in the stats though!

Max, I loved that play as well and would take him as my SS in a second. The guy plays the game the way it is supposed to be played.

I just get tired of him being promoted as this great late inning post season clutch performer simply because he is the heart and soul of the Yankees and a media darling.

I have nothing against Jeter. I just think we over hype him.
