Mets interested in Lohse per ESPN

A major league executive tells 1050 ESPN New York's Andrew Marchand that the Mets are interested in Kyle Lohse, but they have not made him an offer yet. New York is concerned about the lenghth of a deal. Lohse is believed to be seeking four years.

The Mets also are still interested in innings-eater Livan Hernandez and would still like to trade for the A's Joe Blanton. And, of course, they want Johan Santana.

Kyle Lohse is garbage, who cares.

Well, if the New York papers and ESPN are reporting accurately, apparently Omar Minaya cares so much that he's looking at a 4 yr $40 mil contract. I can see why most fans wouldn't care though. Adding a #4 or #5 starter isn't huge news.

Amazing. Simply Amazing.

Lohse is at best a journeyman starter, just an average starter, at best, A bottom of the rotation type. Not a guy who is going to make a world of difference for your team's fortune.

And he wants 10 million per, over 4 years. Unreal. Know what else is unreal? Someone might actually give it to him. Maybe he ends up with a measly 36 million over 4, but still, just ridiculous.

not even that . . . this guy belongs in AAA, he never panned out the way he was hyped up in Minn. and now every team thinks that if they "tweek" something that he will all of a sudden be a legit starter in the majors.

he is garbage.

Minaya is a moron . . . maybe he is 1/16 dominican and thats why he is chasing...

Adding a piece of crap that will cost you $10M/year over the next four years is huge news because of how bad the move is. I laugh when people say Omar's a better GM than Cashman. God, at least the Yankees gave Pavano $40 million when he was coming off a great year and he was thought to be a good pitcher.

good thing we didnt sign Lohse.. The 15-6 record and 3.76 era wouldnt have helped this team.
