villain_the_foe
Simple math constitutes genius ? You can stucture a contract any way you want its his job to do that. Its getting the player to agree to the structure which makes him genius. Especially when you're in the middle of politicin Randy, Nnamdi, Braylong etc. He has the ability to get his man and leave money to spare. Holmes for a 5th rounder, Braylon for peanuts????? Tanny gets the job done.

Ken Schroy
Is is NOT about just being an accountant. Some of you may have forgotten the Curtis Martin deal in 1998. I will remind you it was Mike T that put this together. The Jets offer was the first example under the NFL's current Free Agency system of the "poison pill". Essentially a different contract for the Patriots than it would be for the Jets. It included a clause that would have allowed Martin could become an unrestricted free agent the following season if the Patriots matched the offer, allowing him to leave New England without the Patriots receiving any compensation. The deal included a $3.3 million roster bonus that would have counted against the Patriots' salary cap.
