I'm guessing that just means he signed his RFA tender contract, which is definitely a great situation for the Jets. Dude's a legit backup at all 3 interior line positions, not to mention playing on offense as an extra OL/TE, special teams and in the goal line defense.

Probably along those lines. Sometimes what the teams do is sweeten the tender a bit by offering them some upfront money as a signing bonus and paying less salary during the year. Its insurance for the player since the tender is not guaranteed. Should be a total of $1.2 million or thereabouts.
