FITM
K.C. Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt has died Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt has died. Hunt passed away in a Dallas hospital at age 74 after battling cancer for several years. He was hospitalized the day before Thanksgiving with a partially collapsed lung. Doctors discovered that the cancer has since spread, and Hunt has been under heavy sedation since last week. Hunt was a founder of the American Football League and played a huge rule in the A-F-L/N-F-L merger. He saw his Chiefs win Super Bowl Four in 1970, two years before he became the first AFL figure inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. faba
Nice article about him in NY Times today- even though he was a millionare he was supposed to be a real down to earth person. He was of the main person that was responsible for the merger of the two leagues.
