According to The Bergen Record those are the 3 teams showing the most interest and Law probably will not except just a 1 year deal.

Sign Ty to a 2-3 year deal, you won't regret it TB.

An excerpt;

Don't discount the possibility of Ty Law landing with the Detroit Lions. Not only did Law visit with Lions officials this week, but the team went into the draft targeting Auburn cornerback Carlos Rogers with the No. 10 pick in the draft (Rogers was chosen No. 9 by the Redskins). This should be a pretty clear indication of what the Lions think of No. 2 cornerback Fernando Bryant, who had a disappointing 2004 after being signed as a free agent

im surprised the Lions didnt spend their offseason signing more WRs

You'd think if they really needed another CB, spending a draft pick for one would have been the thing to do.Just because they missed on pick #10 doesn't mean they have to pass on a CB completely.(No pun intended). additionally, why not invite several undrafted free agent CBs to camp if it's such a concern?

I'm so tired of reading this.

I pray nightly that the Jets or Dolphins sign the washed up, money grubbing whore.

I have no doubt Tom Brady will consistantly beat him like a rented mule.

Can any of you name a higher profile player that Belichik has cut/allowed to walk that has been worth his weight in salt once he's gone?

Damien Woody.

I've recently read the Lions are seriously concerned about Woody's weight which has markedly increased since his big payday. But, I guess you could technicly list him as worth his weight in salt (for the record thats about 360 last I heard)

 They did draft a CB, Stanley Wilson. That being said, it never helps to have CB depth, especially the Lions considering that all of their CB's have been injured at one point or another last season, and the season before... and the season before that too. And the Lions are an overall young team that could use him.

Thanks. I'm not a big fan of the NFC, and if I were- Detroit wouldn't be very high on the list, so I wasn't aware they drafted a CB.

Damien Woody.

Woody had a sub-par year for the Lions last season.

Came into camp well overweight and out-of-shape.

There was a blurb in SI near the end of last season questioning his work ethic.

Add that to the fact the Lions signed him to a huge contract (which the Pats never would have matched), BB probably made the right decision on Woody as well.

Actually, as usual, you're misinformed Tx. While Woody did come into camp out of shape it wasn't because of any work ethic thing. It was because he was still recovering from his torn ACL, which was probably the reason he wasn't resigned in New England. I believe the Dolphins offered a like or a slightly better contract than the Lions did.

While Woody started the season out of shape and recovering, towards the end of the season, the running game improved and that was due to the improved play of Damien Woody. He played his way into shape. He'll be in shape for the season. And the Lions needed him, so it was a good signing. Just like signing Ty Law would be. And it's another Michigan player. I say go Blue.

Shadow, I'm not the one saying he had a "work ethic problem". That was SI.

That kinda surprised me when I read it, because that was never said about Woody when he was with the Pats.

Elvis' question was what player has bb let go that has been worth his weight?

Woody played well. He started every game. It was a good signing for Detroit.

Obviously the Pats were fine without him. I was just answering the question that Elvis asked.

That's fair.

Lions had a huge need and filled it.

Woody did play in all 16 games.

And, as I'm sure you will be shocked by this, but SI sucks. It wasn't a work ethic thing. He was coming off a torn ACL and was playing well under a year after it happened. Yeah, he's going to be a bit fat and out of shape when he wasn't on his leg for six months. And shouldn't have been playing football in August and September either. But he did. Dude is tough.

It was a great signing for the Lions. Woody is worth more than his weight to the Lions.
