I actually watched some old blue hair drive up onto the island, hit the gas pump and drive off. We had to call her at home to tell her what she did. This was a man who did very well for himself. Yet age (and dementia?) did catch up to him, and he once pulled into a full service station, had his tank filled, and then simply pulled away, without paying, and shouting as he left "Treat me today, and I'll treat you tomorrow.".
