2012 Jets record if no QB passed...

What would the 2012 Jets record have been if no QB ever threw a single pass? So for the purposes of this discussion:

-Tebow takes 99% of the snaps under center, but never passes.

-Kerley or McKnight might throw a handful of passes each, but not many.

-Every play is a handoff, pitch, reverse, run-option, etc. no passes from the QB.

Is it actually possible that the Jets would have had a better record, or at least the same record?

On paper, we were obviously better off just running it every play. So the real issue to me is what impact it would have had on our offense if the defense knew a running play was coming every time.

I know how insane this scenario is, but think about:

-How many times we were in the red-zone but didn't get at least 3 points on the board because Sanchez threw a pick. Lots of points to pick up there, even if we assume that we would NEVER have gotten a 1st down on a run.

-How many times a run for a few yards followed by a punt would have been superior to Sanchez throwing a pick, as far as field position is concerned.

-Potentially cuts our turnovers by 60% or more, especially when you realize how many fumbles Sanchez had. So just swap Sanchez' fumbles for running back fumbles and that might be more than enough to account for all the new fumbles we would have by runners, except we're taking away all the interceptions.

-Does anyone remember a game won due to our passing offense? Game 1 vs. Buffalo comes to mind, but it's probable IMO we would have won that game on the ground anyway, given how many times we took the ball away from Buffalo.

-The Titans game comes to mind as a game that we lost, but that we almost certainly would have won, if we simply had not passed the ball a single time.

-Tebow in the game for 99% of snaps would have made the running game more dynamic, of course.

Tim Tebow was anything but dynamic when he ran because of the weight he added. The Jets would not have been any better. This is a fool's errand.

Maybe, but he would be more of a help to the run game than Sanchez would.

Sanchez did not open much up for the run game, let's be honest:

0/5, 1 INT on passes thrown 41+ yards.

14/38, 3 TD's, 3 INT's on passes of 21-40 yards

13 TD's to 27 turnovers, that's a -14 TD to turnover ratio. Abysmal.

Teams would just throw everyone in the box if the Jets ran all the time...0-16.

FWIW, Sanchez's YPA passing the ball was better than the YPC the backs had. Obviously this should be the case, it wasn't better by as much as it should have been, and there were more turnovers passing than running, but it's hard to say they were more effective running the ball.
