Why is NFL playing on Thursday nites ? Oh yeah they rake in more money from that. If NFL cared for the Ravens fans this game could have been help on Sunday or Monday nite. They just wanted to preserve their Thursday nite spot of opening with the Super Bowl champs. The fans of that team be damned!

Bud: "Sorry Roger, but we ain't changing our game time that night."

Roger: "No sweat, Bud ... Remember the days when we didn't play our Sunday Night games on World Series nights? Enjoy your Sunday afternoon game times in October."

Bud: "Ummm ... wait Roger ..."

You watch.

I don't see how the Orioles could be expected to change their schedule, it has been out for awhile.  Tickets have been sold and it isn't like you can move just one game in baseball.  It is an entire series and with the way travel works in baseball, it doesn't seem really easy to accommodate.

Even making the Orioles game a 1pm start wouldn't work because of tailgating.

How about they play the game...on SUNDAY!!!

The NFL has nothing to complain about.  This is about NFL greed, not anything to do with MLB.  They could freaking play the game on Sunday if they were so concerned about Baltimore's home, ticket-buying fans (which they aren't).  Or maybe the league is unconcerned since most of their fans are riddled with the clap and are therefore too skeevy to care about.

Rosh Hashanah Wednesday -- no need to upset the Jewish fans -- Per Goodell

I don't like to bring in or fuel even marginally religious discussions here, but the NFL plays games on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  MLB plays on Easter Sunday.  It's a weak reason IMO.  Or they could just play in Baltimore on friggin' Sunday and put someone else in prime time that Thursday.
